6,791✭✭✭48/2 (9+3) =

48/2 (12) =

48/24 =

2

or i did it this way also

But yeah, you follow BEDMAS/PEMdAS

48/2(9+3)

BRACKETS/PARENTHESIS FIRST,

48/2(12)

After this, those brackets are simply a multiplication symbol, so you can rewrite as:

48/2x12

At this point you follow BEDMAS and go left to right

48/2 = 24

Then you have 24(12) or 24x12

= 288

3,040✭✭✭I guess...im pretty good with math

Its called a math troll for a reason...

6,791✭✭✭You get 2 if you multiply before you divide but division and multiplication are on the same bracket in PEMDAS.

Since the division sign is before the multiplication sign you divide first. The rule is to go left to right.

635✭✭And yall gotta remember, all calculators don't follow order of operations (PEMDAS).48,358✭✭✭✭✭6,791✭✭✭48/2(12)=

24(12)=

48,358✭✭✭✭✭shouldnt you distribute the 2 first??

48,358✭✭✭✭✭co-sign both statements to the fullest

10,240✭✭✭✭✭48÷2(9+3) = 2

48/2(9+3) = 288

For reasons I cant explain the division symbol makes the difference here. Something about the non-traditional symbol having more implications with the denominator not being inclusive of the problem. He also said this is one of the worst written problems he has ever seen lol. Definite troll problem.

8,002✭✭✭✭✭thanks,but me trying to post it 3 times takes the humor out of it

4,289✭✭✭✭✭2 x 9=

18and 2 x 3=618+6=

24the (original) question is what is 48 divided by 2x9 + 2x3 (which "we" have figured out was

24)So 48 divided by 24 is what?

*Gold star for me*

4,762✭✭✭5,450✭✭✭✭✭Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally.... she's a whore."Our mistake, the mistake we Africans made, was to have forgotten that the enemy never withdraws sincerely. He never understands. He capitulates, but he does not become converted

Our mistake is to have believed that the enemy had lost his combativeness and his harmfulness" Frantz Fanon

10,240✭✭✭✭✭In a nutshell he says 48÷2(9+3) would read as 48 OVER 2(9+3) where 48/2(9+3) reads 48/2 * (9+3)

16,844✭✭✭✭✭uh no. 48/2 is like a seperate entity. its not just a 48 and a 2. its one whole thing. and you dont just multiply the denominator of something without doing anything with the numerator. if you had like 1/2 (4) the answer isnt going to be 1/8. thats basically what youre doing. WRONG.
