Possesion Charge

So i just got my first marijuana possession charge and court date...

I need a lawyer? Idk how the Judicial System works

Helpful suggestion are welcomed

depends if you want it on your record, but you can try to negotiate some drug classes so that it can be wiped off the record, but hiring a lawyer can make that process easier, but you could still probably just get the classes without hiring one, but hiring one could make it easier if you have the money to spend but if you dont then chances are you can work it out yourself with the DA office but they may be hard to get a hold of so having a lawyer could help in that situation but even still, it very well may be something that you could do for free. just depends on how bad u want it off your record and how much cash you want to spend. maybe need to hire a lawyer to get u those classes, but i may have said, its something that might could be done by yourself, without a lawyer

I caught a possession charge over a roach too.

Got a lawyer, paid him money, got a 6 month license suspension and had to take a drug and alcohol class to get it back.


Still on my record 5 years later.

Dont let no one tell you not to hire a lawyer. A posession charge no matter how little can screw you over for the next 5 to 7 years depending on what you want to do with your life. Not sure what its called in your state but all states have some form of a pretrial diversion program its basically a few classes fines and misdemeanor probation for a short time to get your record wiped clean after you finish it succesfully but thats only for the first time offender though. Also jackass nextime youre in your car wit weed put the fuckin shit out of plain sight so the cops dont have probable cause to search your vehicle. If they ask you to search your car always say no never consent to a search even if they say they are going to anyway...and make sure you say it out loud as clearly as you can incase dash cams and microphones are recording. Sometimes you can get out of things like this due to improper procedure or illegal searches.

You either had a public defender or a really heap shitty lawyer...my lawyer wouldve ate that shit forreal i ended up getting 6 months time served for an agg assault with a deadly and carrying a concealed weapon not to mention a violation of probation with the new charges and they knocked down the ag assault to a misdemeanor been my lawyer ever since...the only bad thing is they wont let me get my gun back and i bought my shit legally. You need better legal services lol

thats excatly wat happend with my assault case....however mine was possession of deadly weapon and Malicious mischief..i got credit for time served everything was dropped to a 4rth misdemeanor..wit a bunch of anger classes and shyt,,,mine was easy though 1st offense

As little as it sounds youre risking going into court onthe ada's one bad day of the month and you could get screwed ive seen it happen niggas get 90 days in county for roaches or a dime dont forget he doesnt have to give you a decent deal also if he does give you a decent deal its up to the judge if he wants to accept it or not ive had a deal rejected by a judge before.
