Are Jean Shorts really out of style?

so my cousin is over at the crib and I was getting what I planned on wearing today ready and I bust out some jean shorts. Most of my shorts are cargo style shorts, but there is one pair of jean shorts that I wear occasionally. He looked at me crazy and then asked you really still rocking jean shorts. I was like yeah whats wrong with them
