Well it seems like if we win this we arent the "better" team..
We arent winning the games the Thunder are losing them..
Its all good bring home another championship to South Florida!!

Man, quit being so sensitive. lol Not everyone is going to love or think as high of your team as you do. Get over it.

    Sensitive about what??
Its the truth ppl are already saying it not just you..
I can careless how yall feel about the Heat long as we win another title..

I ain't hate though. At least not on my part. I just don't think OKC has played to their potential this series. On the flip side, the supporting cast of MIA has played above and beyond theirs. MIA is definitely earning this championship, but I don't think OKC is coming with their best.

I mean even if you believe MIA is the better team. You got to admit that if Indiana could beat ya'll twice, OKC should be able to do at least that yet they don't seem to be able to pull it out.

Wade still hasnt played his "best" this series and neither has Bosh..
I honestly believe with Bosh we sweep Ind or one loss..

Saying a team hasn't played their best is kinda dumb in this situation.

Why cant it be the Heat is just locking these niggas up?

Miami Heat On Verge Of Blockbuster Television Deal

The Miami Heat are involved in discussions for a blockbuster cable television deal that experts say are being enhanced by the long-term contract the team has with reigning league MVP LeBron James and its run towards a second NBA title.

Sources familiar with the negotiations, but who do not have permission to speak about them publicly, peg the value of the long-term deal between $80 million to $100 a a year with Fox Sports Florida. Although the Heat’s new deal will only be about half the amount the Los Angeles Lakers are going to get from Time Warner Cable, it will still generate at least over four times the revenue the team currently rakes in.

Says Chris Bevilacqua, who runs Bevilacqua Media, but is not involved or familiar with the details of the negotiations, “Fox has a lot of competition down there with Comcast and that plays well into the dynamics of the deal for the Heat.” The Heat’s new cable deal will be the second-richest in the NBA.

A spokesperson for Fox could not immediately comment on the deal between the Heat and the RSN.

In February, SportsBusiness Journal reported that the Heat were averaging a 6.49 rating, second in the NBA behind the San Antonio Spurs. The Lakers, however, whose television market is 3.5 times bigger than Miami’s, were averaging 258,000 households per game, tops in the league and more than double the Heat’s household average.

The Heat’s current television deal with News Corp.’s regional sports network was signed in 2004 and still has three more seasons to run, but such deals typically include clauses that give both sides an opportunity to renegotiate early for an extension or come up with a new deal.

The television windfall would pad the net worth of the Heat’s billionaire owner, Micky Arison, who paid $32 million for the team in 1988. In January we valued the Heat at $457 million, sixth-most in the NBA and $443 million less than the league-leading Lakers. The Heat’s new television deal would close about one-quarter of that gap.

That's a fair point. That said, again your supporting cast is playing better than they ever have, so at best they are picking up Wade and Bosh's slack. That said, there isn't all that much slack to pick up for Wade. I agree he's not playing his best, but he is being productive on both ends of the floor.

For Mario Chalmers, it's not about the shoes

    MIAMI —

He plays the game in a pair of shoes made by a company more known for making the basketball.
Miami Heat guard Mario Chalmers figured he was setting himself up for jokes when he switched from adidas last offseason in favor of signing an endorsement deal with Spalding. He suddenly in the locker room became the kid on the playground who was ridiculed for wearing Zips instead of the latest name-brand kicks.

“When you’ve got Nike and Jordan on the team, it’s one of the biggest companies out there,” Chalmers said. “You know they’re going to say something to me. But Spalding is a good company. It’s something that’s coming up. We’re going to get it going.”

And so did Chalmers on the court Tuesday.

It was his 25 points that have the Heat one win from an NBA title. Chalmers was huge in a 104-98 victory against the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 4 of the Finals. Afterward, the focus was on his play instead of what he wore on his feet.

His shoe choice was an easy target for the likes of LeBron James and Dwyane Wade, two of the league’s superstars. James has worn Nike since his high schools days while Wade is also of the Jumpman family.

“We jib him a little bit,” swingman James Jones said. “Spalding isn’t Nike, it’s not adidas …He’s wearing Spalding and the rest of us are wearing Nikes. Spalding, they make the basketballs. It’s all in fun. Everyone has a joke and that’s his.”

Chalmers scored 19 second-half points, taking advantage of the Thunder’s decision to put forward Kevin Durant on him. Chalmers said he took “that as a little sign of disrespect” because the thinking was allowing Durant to rest on defense.

Chalmers’ play helped offset Oklahoma City guard Russell Westbrook, who finished with a game-high 41 points. Still, it was Chalmers who made perhaps the game’s biggest play. After the Thunder closed to within 101-98, Chalmers scored a driving layup to make it a five-point game with 13.8 seconds remaining.

“Mario is my little dude,” forward Udonis Haslem said. “All the success he gets, I’m happy for him. I’m so excited about the way he played. A couple of the guys [Wade and James] tease him, but they have bigger (shoe) deals. They can tease anybody with as much as money as they make. I’m sure they could tease all of us in here. Together, combined, they still make more money than us.”

Shoe popularity aside, Chalmers has never shied from moments as such. He has been labeled clutch since hitting the winning 3-pointer to lift Kansas over Memphis in the 2008 NCAA title game. The shot remains one of the greatest in college basketball history.

“I just remember the shot,” Haslem said. “I had Memphis picked in my bracket. From that point, I knew the kid was clutch.”

That is evident with the tattoo on right arm that says “Mr. Clutch.” Chalmers was able to shake off a pair of poor efforts, shooting a combined 2 of 15 in Games 2 and 3.

“Mario has that thing, that thing called heart,” Wade said. “No matter what, no matter how tough we are on him, he actually thinks he’s the best player on this team. That’s a gift and a curse. (Thursday), it was a gift for us because he never gets down on himself. He always believes, `Find me, I can make a shot. I can make a play.”’

The guy with the lesser-know shoe brand ended his big night with his second podium interview session of the playoffs. After that, it was off to one final interview with ESPN’s SportsCenter. Before he entered the room, he wanted to make it clear he was content with his endorsement team.

He was asked if he was ready to be upgraded to Nike or adidas.

“Nah, this was a Spalding game,” he said with a smile. “I gotta go Spalding.”

I disagree about bosh.. Bosh hasn't played great offensively.. but this best I have seen bosh play defensively as a member of the heat.. The nigga is altering or blocking a lot shots in post.. and the nigga is finally hitting the boards hard in the finals gettin rebounds.. Something he should have been doing all regular season...

Jones considering retirement, Turiaf and Curry will weigh options

    June 21st, 2012 by Ethan J. Skolnick

Credit to Shandel Richardson of the Sun-Sentinel for the story on James Jones considering retirement.
Jones is a deliberate person, so expect him to give that plenty of thought. He has many interests outside basketball, including finance, but he’s so competitive that I’ll be surprised if he gives it up.
Here’s a rundown of other Heat role players:

Mike Miller — Also considering retirement, but he hasn’t decided anything yet, in part because he has three years left on his contract, and in part because he’s not sure how long the rehab from a potential back surgery might take. If he goes through that, he’s hoping to have more of a role than he’s had of late. The Heat may make the choice for him, by invoking the amnesty clause, but the real benefits to that would come after next season.

Ronny Turiaf — He holds an option for next season, and recently said he’ll let this season settle in before deciding whether to exercise it. He’s enjoyed his brief Heat experience, and thinks he could contribute more after a full training camp. He said its been easy to adjust to what Miami wants: “Just go hard.”

Eddy Curry — His summer plans include playing more basketball than he did this season, though he has expressed no complaints, and said he would “love” to come back, and see how he could contribute in a more normal season. He may try to tie himself to free agent (and close friend) Jamal Crawford in some way. He has already accepted an invitation to participate in Crawford’s charity event in Seattle.

Dexter Pittman — Like Curry a free agent after the season, he hopes to “dominate” summer league in Las Vegas, to show how far he’s come.

  • It would have been nice if Anthony had more playing time because he was one of the reasons they made it.
