OK will have a NFL team in the next 20 years, book it. People talkin without knowing yet again.
Oklahoma getting a NBA team before a NFL team was like a Canadian city getting a NFL team before a hockey team.
If u think chesapeake energy is loud, imagine 80,000 of them instead of 20,000 (or just watch a OU home game.)
OK is football country, hell, the whole southwest is. And the Thunder are just proving that it can be profitable.
I thought that was common sense.
lol @ niggas thinking Team executives pick cities based on how many rappers rep the city. foh.
And dude that said "North Dakota" - don't sleep on ND. North Dakota is the Saudi Arabia of the US right now because of a oil boom.
And oil is what built both Texas and Oklahoma.
Idk about the other cities but my city is in line for an NFL team. And with bettman in charge, there won't be any new NHL teams in Canada, especially not in southern ontario(thank god).
The whole Chesapeake arena being loud is over exaggerated. Sac town had a loud arena with those cowbells, had Phil jack wearing earplugs.
You're right about the oil. Goodell will go where ever the money is in the states.
I think San Antonio should get a football team next but it will probably be LA. Football is life down here and everyone would definitely support. Shit half the people down here have season tickets to the cowboys games and drive up every weekend...
Chad to miami.....well damn that was quick I guess he knew nobody else was really interested.....well that greedy bitch he's with will love the move to miami
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Jaguars have no plans to renegotiate running back Maurice Jones-Drew's current contract.
General manager Gene Smith confirmed Monday that Jones-Drew wants a new deal, but made it clear it's not going to happen.
"Obviously, he has expressed that he would like to renegotiate and we have expressed again that we feel he has a contract with two years left that we expect him to fulfill those obligations," Smith said.
Jones-Drew, who led the NFL in rushing last season with 1,606 yards, has two years remaining on a five-year deal worth $31 million that he signed in 2009. He is scheduled to make $4.45 million this season and $4.95 million in 2013.
That's considerably less than other top tailbacks. Tennessee's Chris Johnson is getting $13.5 million annually. Houston's Arian Foster is making $8.7 million a year. And Seattle's Marshawn Lynch is earning $7.75 annually. St. Louis' Steven Jackson, Carolina's DeAngelo Williams and Minnesota's Adrian Peterson also make more than Jones-Drew.
Jones-Drew has 6,854 yards rushing, 2,473 yards receiving and 74 total touchdowns in six seasons. He carried a career-high 343 times last year, averaging 4.7 yards even though defenses knew he was the focal point of the NFL's worst offense.
It makes sense that the 27-year-old back would want a new deal after a career year. But the Jaguars certainly don't want to set a precedent of paying players already in the middle of lucrative contracts.
"Our expectation with any player that's under contract is for them to fulfill their obligations," Smith said. "In terms of our position, he's got two years remaining."
Jones-Drew skipped all of the team's offseason workouts, and it's unclear whether he will attend a mandatory, three-day minicamp that begins Tuesday.
"I would expect him to be here this week, but that's ultimately his decision," Smith said. "It's a mandatory veteran camp for the players that are under contract. I expect all our players under contract to be here, though."
Jones-Drew could be fined up to $60,000 for missing the three days of practice.
"That's a decision that certainly is the head coach's decision, and I would support that," Smith said.
Jones-Drew hasn't worked out in Jacksonville the last three years. He missed organized team activities in 2010 to train on the West Coast, and the NFL lockout canceled offseason training sessions last year.
Nonetheless, it hasn't slowed him down. Jones-Drew has made three consecutive Pro Bowls.
As primetime would say, "pay the man!"
I don't see the problem in adding 2 or 3 more years to his contract and paying him more money which he deserves..
On one hand i could see that he needs to be paid more, on the other hand, those other backs are better then him, sure he is the main reason they score on offense, but he isnt as good as those dudes, he is really good but not on not as good as those cats, he may be worth 1 or 2 mill more but def. not a 15mil or 8mil back

does the team get better if they sign mjd to a lucrative long term deal when he's already got time left on his current deal??
I'm convinced they're trying to lose. Let's run down the evidence...
- Drafted a extra-average QB in the first round who wasn't even the best QB on Missouri's roster in his last year.
- Cut the 2nd best QB in their team's history for really no reason (can't really blame the cap, 'cause Jax is like 80 million under the cap for three straight years.)
- Fired Jack Del Rio who, while not perfect, is the architect of the only decent thing they got going for them (their defense.)
- Hired and PROMOTED our offensive coordinator to HC who couldn't score a point with the most talented receiving corp in the NFL in the playoffs. (I didn't think he would find another OC job, much less get promoted.)
- Drafted a Punter in the 3rd round. (Which is the equivalent of drafting a waterboy. The majority of the greatest kickers and punters of all time went undrafted or were drafted post 6th round.)
- Acted like they were "too good" to sign the most popular athlete in North Florida history (Tim Tebow) even though they're basically giving away season tickets with happy meals and a tank of gas.
- Drafted another WR in the 1st round when thanks to Megatron bailing out the Lions, Jax is officially the worst team in the league at drafting WR's early.
NFL should investigate these niggas. This has to be on purpose.

Okc won't have an NFL team for a long time. My city has better chances of getting an NFL team before okc does.
I thought okc peeps supported all their teams? Aren't you one of them?
As soon as a stadium is built, they're moving to LA.
I like those color schemes, none of that krab blue..
