XXL’s THE TOP 100 BIGGIE BITES (Most Bitten EVER???)

As we approach the 15th Anniversary of the death of one of the greatest and most influential rappers of all time. I bring you an article in the Biggie Tribute Issue by XXL in store now. On the Old Reason I did a thread titled “How much of Biggie Rhymes are going to come out of Hip Hop’s Damn Lips” and in that thread myself and many board members posted countless bitten rhymes from other artist that took from Biggie. Some of it may have been homage, some of it biting. The Reality of it is it’s clear that Biggie is one of the most influential lyricist in Hip Hop History. Plenty of emcees when they are in the booth, a Biggie rhyme comes to mind. The taking of Big’s lyrics are so common now that it has happen every single year since his death. Here’s the article, it’s pretty amazing to see considering Biggie only had released 2 LP’s and a Group Project during his short but Legendary run. So Here's to the Legacy of Biggie's lyrics. This is why I don't understand why people try to say he's not GOAT STATUS. How is he sampled this much with such a limited catalog. Biggie is the Hendrix of Hip Hop, he didn't need a lot of Material to be considered one of the greatest ever. Also everyone check the Youtube Videos, XXL got most of their lyrics from the 3 Part Video which has audio of all of Biggie's Bitten Rhymes. Jay was very close to Biggie and he explained why he did it. Doesn't make it right but at the same time even as a Big Biggie fan, I don't mind the fact Jay has gone all out. What this does is anyone who think's Jay is the best or GOAT will have to trace back to Biggie so for Jay to sacrifice his own position in the memory of Big I have to give him props. NaS was right to call him out about it but even NaS himself admitted "Yea, But everyone Takes Biggie's lyrics, Jay, Me, Everybody". So in the end, I believe Jay, he is really Biggin up his brother and keeping Big's name alive for many generations. With that said, he OD'ed on Biggie lyrics, I almost feel like he has Biggie's Book of Rhymes with him every time he goes in the booth.

This is why I don't understand why people try to say he's not GOAT STATUS. How is he sampled this much with such a limited catalog. Biggie is the Hendrix of Hip Hop, he didn't need a lot of Material to be considered one of the greatest ever. Also everyone check the Youtube Videos, XXL got most of their lyrics from the 3 Part Video which has audio of all of Biggie's Bitten Rhymes.
