Yes indeed they were. No limit and Cash Money got the whole nation lookin down south and tryin to steal our swagger and our sound. Them boys made history, but Death Row came out doin major #'s too. When Deathbrow did it back in the early 90's we hadn't never seen no ish like that before.

I'm seeing a lot of answers being based off of which label had a longer run. I thought the thread was about who had a better run? Quality over quantity. I'll take a dime of some kush over a quarter of midds everyday. With that bn said, i'd have to go with Death Row and Bad Boy/The Roc tied at a close 2nd. Young Money ruined Cash Money credibility IMO. Them niggaz some clowns.

To this day 'Doggystyle' has sold more than AEOM.

I remember seeing someone post that AEOM was certified 9x plat in 98-99. So i'm sure it's diamond now.

AEOM along with the Makaveli album, 'The Chronic', and 'Doggystyle' were all re-released as enhanced CDs on Koch records. Those sales dont go to the original album releases. Unlesse you go to a used CD store, you're not gonna find the original copy of any of those albums from Death Row.


So either the original version of AEOM didnt ship 5 mil or the label didnt pay to have it certified. (Every album certification costs money.)

All I know is AEOM has sold alot more than his Greatest Hits album.
