Fire Emblem 3DS Sweeps Japan, PS Vita Sales Down
The new Fire Emblem game is the best-selling yet, and PlayStation Vita sales reach a new low.

Nintendo's latest 3DS release, Fire Emblem: Awakening, is already off to a strong start. In fact, according to this week's Japanese sales figures (thanks to NeoGAF for the fan translation), the game sold more than 240,000 units in Japan, and is the fastest-selling entry in the franchise's history
In fact, Nintendo took nine of the top 10 sales spots this week
, with 3DS titles Code of Princess, Super Mario 3D Land, Monster Hunter 3G, Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, Kid Icarus Uprising and Mario Kart 7 rounding out the rest of the list, and DS title Detective Conan: Prelude from the Past nabbing the tenth spot.
The system itself also saw a sales boost, thanks no doubt to the new software, outselling all other systems combined with a solid 84,760 units sold
. Meanwhile, things are still looking dismal for the PlayStation Vita, which didn't land any software in the top 20 this week. The system also reached a new low in terms of hardware sales, only moving 8,206
