New WWE Championship belt coming soon

WWE Champion CM Punk participated in a Q&A session while at the Comic Con in Philadelphia this weekend.

Punk revealed that there is indeed a new WWE Title belt, after months of speculation. Punk says he has seen the title and doesn’t think it’s any better than the current spinner title. Punk says the title was just made and weighs about 20 pounds more than the current belt. Punk says he wants to be the one to produce a new title and says it’s coming soon.

    Orton's WWE future uncertain?

Randy Orton’s future with WWE is uncertain following their announcement Wednesday that he was being suspended for 60 days for his second violation of the Talent Wellness Program.

SuperLuchas.net, a reputable source, reports that Orton met with Chairman Vince McMahon, Executive Vice President of Talent and Live Events Paul Levesque (Triple H) and Executive Vice President of Television Production Kevin Dunn at the organization’s headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut on Friday to discuss his future with the organization.

A WWE source described the meeting’s atmosphere as “hostile” and it was determined that a further decision concerning Orton awaits. The report adds there are “several” officials calling for his termination as a cost-cutting measure. They feel his lucrative ten-year contract—signed in January 2010—can no longer be justified if he is brought back in a mid-level role. His second suspension hinders WWE from continuing to feature Orton in headline role since a third drug-testing policy infraction would result in automatic termination.

If Orton does return, WWE would not push Randy in case he failed another drug test.

Vince McMahon is especially infuriated with Orton, who felt he had matured in recent years. The suspension reportedly stems from a positive drug test for the anabolic steroid Dianabol, which is banned by the United States Congress under its Controlled Substances Act. He also reportedly tested positive for marijuana, which is subject to a $2,500 fine.

    Damn

Ryback in line for major push

WWE has big plans in store for Ryback, who has continuously squashed talent since debuting on SmackDown in April.

SuperLuchas.net reports that Vince McMahon has notified creative to script Ryback as dominant as possible in future outings. The WWE Chairman is very high on the SmackDown Superstar as he feels he can be his company’s version of Bill Goldberg.

Creative plans for Ric Flair in WWE

According to sources in WWE, the creative team is currently discussing different on-air roles for Ric Flair. The most popular option has been using Flair as a manager for Dolph Ziggler.

WWE plans to negotiate a legends contract and possibly a talent contract for the 16-time World champion, although it should be noted that some officials are worried about his age and other factors.

    Update on Randy Orton
Reports came out from SuperLuchas yesterday that Randy Orton’s WWE future was up in the air after meeting with Vince McMahon, Triple H and Kevin Dunn at WWE headquarters on Friday. The report stated that the meeting’s atmosphere was “hostile” and it was determined a further decision concerning Orton awaits. SuperLuchas says that several WWE officials were calling for Orton’s release as a cost-cutting measure.

Reports today suggest there was definitely talk about not bringing him back as soon as his suspension is over. The idea would be to make Orton “sit it out and stew” once the suspension is over.

The Raw superstars will be working SmackDown tours this summer while Orton is away. John Cena and CM Punk have already been booked for upcoming SmackDown tapings.

Ric Flair as Zigglers manager? God, that'd be amazing.
