Tampa, Florida (The Weekly Vice) -- Stephanie Ragusa, a 28 year old math teacher who was recently charged with having sex with a 15 year old student, has been re-arrested on new charges involving yet another 15 year old student.

Ragusa, who formerly taught at Davidson Middle School before moving on to Martinez Middle School, was arrested and charged last month with 5 counts of lewd and lascivious battery on a minor.

While sharing an elevator ride at school, Ragusa told the student that she could break him of his shyness. She allegedly followed through with her offer, having sexual intercourse and/or oral sex with the boy on a number of occasions.

Now, the Hillsborough Sheriff's Department has arrested Ragusa again, amid new allegations that she had sex more than 20 times with another 15 year old student.

Ragusa now faces new charges of lewd and lascivious battery and 2 counts of having unlawful sexual activity with a minor in addition to the previous 5 charges from her arrest in March.

According to a Hillsborough County Sheriff's Department spokesperson, Ragusa had sex with the 15 year old student at her Fox Terrier Court home. Ragusa provided alcohol to the minor and supplied the boy with a condom.

On March 10th, Ragusa and the boy communicated via text message - agreeing to meet again at the boy's home. Ragusa allegedly gave the boy alcohol and had sex with him again, according to investigators.

Ragusa is currently being held at the Orient Road Jail, pending a bond hearing. Her teaching position at the school remains 'suspended without pay' pending the outcome of the charges against her.

The Weekly Vice Opinion:

From appearances, it would seem this teacher had 15 year old boys coming and going through a revolving door.

While some teachers are drawn into a relationship with one particular student, others demonstrate clearly through repeated behavior that they are outright pedophiles. It's becoming more and more apparent that this may be the case with Ragusa.

If all of the charges are substantiated, this is one case that demands real jail time - as opposed to the 'sweetheart' plea bargains that have been coming out of Florida lately in other teacher sex scandal cases.

No house arrest. This week we learned what the court does with house arrest. They abolish it after a matter of months. Case and point, the Debra Lafave is an excellent example of a teacher was put on house arrest as opposed to jail. This week, the judge decided to dissolve the house arrest despite a parole violation by Lafave just months ago.

If they are going to outlaw sex crimes on students, they need to outlaw it for real and stop playing games with it. Florida lawmakers typically pride themselves on strict sentencing standards. It's getting high time to either put up or shut up.

Now police have released details showing how Ragusa lured the boy into sex.

While sharing an elevator ride at Davidsen Middle School with a 14-year-old student, Ragusa told the boy he was shy and she could break him of that, according to the police affidavit.

According to police, the boy disclosed that he agreed to go to the teacher's apartment instead of going to an after-school program he was supposed to attend.

When the boy was at Ragusa's apartment, the boy says she performed oral sex on the boy before it inevitably resulted in full intercourse. Ragusa returned the boy to the school just in time for pick up from the teen's parents.

Ragusa also lured the boy out of his house while his parents were sleeping. He met her around the corner where she again performed oral sex on the youth - leading to intercourse.

The teacher later took the teen to a party and sex with him on that and other occassions, according to court records.

According to police, Ragusa had sex with a 14 year old student from Davidson Middle school on 5 occasions while she was a teacher at the school last year. The sexual assaults occurred between October, 2006 and May, 2007 and occurred in various locations including her apartment and car.

Investigators say a school resource officer at Davidsen was tipped to Ragusa's conduct and contacted the victim, who confirmed the allegations.

Ragusa was booked into Orient Road Jail, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's department.
