The lineup for the summer classic hip hop tour will be announced tonight at 9 (Pacific) @ the House of Blues on Sunset Blvd.

rock-the-bells-lineup1.jpg

Any of yall usually go or plan on going this year? It's always a fun time. Beautiful women, nice weather, and great music for a whole day. It's been a couple IC posters who linked up and enjoyed themselves at RTB in the past.. It's always my excuse to go on at least one vacation per summer.. Some of yall fortunate to live in the cities that hold the events (LA, Boston, NY, San Fran)..

For those who have went did yall spend more time at the Main stage, Paid Dues stage, 36 Chambers, etc.. or do you scramble all over the place like me?

dam i been waiting all day on my email didn't realize it was 9pm pacific.

Last year was the 1st year time since 2008 that i didn't attend. They skipped DC show last year hopefully they come back

Most to the time at the DC stop they all on one stage. just acts coming back to back to back from noon til bout 11 pm.

The last time they did have 2 stages though. I stayed at the main stage to see the roots and common but my homie went over to the other stage to see wu and then slaughterhouse.

Me and my homies take a water bottle and fill it up with vodka

Lol they don't make you dump the bottle out?? They sell beer in there right?? Damn dun, if they don't go to DC you better make that NYC trip. They used to hit way more places but I guess they were only selling out in certain venues and I imagine they have to pay all the artists a substantial amount.

They had like 4 stages in San Francisco last year. Sometimes you'll have two acts that you wanna see performing at the same time. SMH.

can't wait to see who's headlining. There was rumors of outcast and Dre and Snoop but i doubt they can pull that off. Last year was underwhelming due to Badu,DOOM, and Currensy not attending but it was still a solid show.

I highly doubt it will be Outkast seeing as Andre said he won't even make another Kast album. I could maaaybeee see Dre and Snoop.

Last year was fun.. Lauryn was trash though. Were you at the SF show africa because I think that's the only show Curren$y didn't hit.

My favorite performances last year were Common, KRIT, Ghost & Rae, Nas...

Which members? Haha didn't they kick Krayzie and Wish out the group? I swear it's never Bizzy, Krayzie, Layzie, Wish, Flesh.. It's a different lineup every week.

I guess that would be dope though. Bone is definitely different from what they've done in the past. I ain't mad at that.

That shit was too raw. I recorded it... Common using Mos' red mic. Classic moment. I was hoping Nas and Com would perform Ghetto Dreams together. And I wanted Nas to come out and do Verbal Intercourse with Rae & Ghost as well as more Mobb collabos but you can only ask for so much.

I woulda lost it if they performed this:

That line up aint as good as the past few years. And fuck them for not coming back to Atlanta, they brought Rae and Mobb Deep last year which was dope but it aint like the full blown concert they throw in the Amphitheater I went to back in 07 I think it was.

yea last year they slimmed it down to 4 locations only when they usually hit about 5/6.

They don't make us pour water out but for some reason they make you take your top off. They let you bring in water only. one time we brought in some chicken and they let us They do sell beers and drinks on the inside though.

Dc venue always looked pretty packed though. Hopefully they back.

i do get tired of seeing wu though hopefully they got some fresh artists

Last year Wu had their whole own separate stage with Masta Killa, GZA, Rae & Ghost, etc... all doing separate performances.. at least at the SF show. So you should be good.

I know they used to hit Chicago and a couple Canadian spots. Florida, Atlanta, Detroit, Denver, etc.. but I doubt they'll be hitting all those spots. I know LA, SF, NYC are always a lock.

The best show I've seen so far was The Roots in 2009. Wouldn't mind them coming back but I agree on having fresh acts. I feel like Cypress Hill has been doing it every year too like Wu. I wanna see Scarface but I doubt it'll happen this year.

I hit da NY Gov Island stop last yr=AMAZING!!! I was scrambling out there but spent most of da time @ main stage(Nas,L Hill,Badu,Cypress Hill,Black Star). I don't expect nothing less than a All Star line-up. RTB is hands down Hip Hop's Woodstock. Buttuh I think I'ma hit da Cali side up dis yr. Movin around N NY is no joke when ur ballin on a budget!!

You got the club tour version. Not the real shit. Here's what I saw last year:

That's not the lineup for Rock the Bells. Guerilla Union does a separate show just for Paid Dues every spring. But they do have similar artists.

Mac Miller is wack and will never headline a main rock the bells stage. Maybe high up on Paid Dues this year.

I think the best headline act Ive seen was A Tribe Called Quest.

Common, Nas/Damian, Big Boi, and Redman were also memorable. I think Jay Electronica was there one time but I had no idea who he was at the time so I missed his set smh

Don't you stay in the A?? Shit I was thinkin about goin to NY depending on my funds but my default spot is always the bay. LA is an option as well. If we in the same spot we might have to link up fam.

Jay Elec was there in 2008. I don't think he was there in 09. Still never got to see Tribe. Shit I would even be happy to get a solo Q-Tip set.
