At what age should you take the chip off ur shoulder?

I was always one of those little niggas angry at the world. Even now as a grown man I still have a lot of unresolved anger in me. I'm sure some of you guys can relate? As a man did you out grow your anger and mature. Or does anyone else still carry a chip on their shoulder? Is it considered a sign of immaturity when an adult is still angry?

i think that if you have a lot of anger as an adult stemming from childhood, you haven't resolved what or who is making you angry. It's best that you need to resolve whatever that's making you angry, because issues tend to manifest into bigger issues when they're not dealt with, especially when it deals with things that happened in childhood.

it's best to tackle whatever that's making you angry, so you can ultimately lift that resentment/anger of your shoulders, so to speak. Some of those type of niggas end up fucking up their life through drugs, prison, suicide or having a mental breakdown when they don't resolve those issues of anger.

i don't think it's immaturity, unless if you refuse to handle the situation properly. forgiving yourself and others will make yourself free of that anger as well, as starting to let the issues go.

I think it depends if you're the kind of cat who lets things get to you and stick or you're just the kind of go-with-it kind of personality.

In any case, I've found that getting older does lessen a bit of the edge, because really, it's to your detriment if you're still angry or indignant to others who may not deserve it at that moment.

I think having a chip on your shoulder in the sense of using it as motivation to succeed in life is a good thing, however.

At age 17, I just stopped giving a fuck in general. I only look at today and toward tomorrow. Whatever happened yesterday goes under fuck it status. Already happened. Time moves forward, make the best of it starting from right now, no matter what happened, why look behind? Doesn't matter as long as you learned lessons or dismissed it.

The problem with grudges is that it constantly eats your soul. You cant really focus, and the person you holding it against may not even be thinking about you at all. So thats alot of energy being spent on someone or things that really arent even thinking about you. I cant see myself getting sick because of my resentment towards somebody who did me wrong. even if they deserve the hate, holding grudges will make you bitter, and enjoy life a little less. Either confront whatever is bothering you or just let it go. but make a decision.

i think once you're an adult, it's better to turn that chip into something productive. use that anger as a motivating tool instead of having it hold you back. also it helps to know that everyone has shit happen to them in life that's unfair and doing something about it is more beneficial than just pitying yourself

Depending on your problems it will only get worse as you get older, money plays a roll in my problems as it does most problems, somedays I feel like i'm not making enough and somedays I count my blessings, and if you have a job that you dont want to be at and your not making the money you want to be making, thats when your well on your way to anger management

what it is it's too many blind people talking about what they see. This creates anger, because blind people can't see. Therefore they can't lead the way.

you can't just say anything to anybody and expect them to just shut up because you said it. You have to watch what u say to people. Out of your mouth comes life and death, and alot of people are cursing others. When u speak things thats not true about people, thats what u are doing cursing.

Reallly man its just part of growing up to me.

Alot of anger and frustration as a kid was based out of what I felt was not being in control. Whenever I wasn't in "control" of a situation, id flip the fuck out and be all worried about stupid shit.

But as i've gotten older, shit just doesn't get to me anymore. If I know im doing my all and i've done everything within *my* power, fuck it, there's no reason to get riled up (this is a great attitude to have within my job because i'm a supervisor in a hectic ass job and its what keeps me sane most nights).

But as i've gotten older....when shit actually DOES get to me, I flip the fuck out. Mostly because shit that actually does get to me is on some disrespectful shit and that won't fly with me, at all.

what creates the hood mentality. Is there are people who do not understand recognize or know where others are coming from. This create anger, because people do not know what others have to deal with in their life, but they want to put this american dream expection on them. Everyone suppose to be perfect. Alot of people do not relate to what others have to deal with. Some people ride is a lil easier, and these people like to make it difficult for people who already have it difficult.

throw my experiences I realize that it's some people who lives were so easy, they think people are faking like they have/had a tough life. They think it's a pretend act. They can't find out whats wrong with others, so they think it's low self esteem. Or they get aggroant and think they are smarter because they don't have obligations that other people have.

I was tired of being compared to girls that grew up differently than me. I was a good outcome out of bad situations. Alot of people I grew up with didnt make it this far, in their right mind. The streets turned out alot of people. I get tired of people who think I grew up like waltons, who judge me because I been thru some hood shit. They like to point the finger at me, thats why I keep talking about how I grew up.

I realize it's more ignorant people that grew up outside of the hood than in the hood. & it's a lot of people who get out of their hood situation, that judge people who were in their same shoes. Instead of thanking god they had a better opportunity, they want to look down on what someonelse is going thru.
