Should the city of Seattle commit that?

Hell, Hornets executives didn't even wanna go back to N.O. when they played in OKC for those same reasons.

    you sure about that?

uh yeah, even players like Chris Paul himself stated several times he didnt wanna leave.

The OKC hornets stint is what paved the way for the Thunder.

Bennett didnt just pull OKC out of a hat. Him and the other investors looked at hornet ticket and merchandise profits, and at the fan support and even inquired with hornets officials directly before making the move.

OKC earned the Thunder. Period. They weren't "handed" to them like damn near every other pro franchise.

It's like how Green Bay finally got the NFL to stop trying to move the packers to Milwaukee back in the 80s.

This so true though. When they built that Ford center, it was for the purposes of having a place for the minor league teams in OKC to play but, the city planners always had two things in mind. A NHL or NBA team. The place didnt have luxury suites until the Hornets were moved there. When the NBA geve the city kudos for housing the Hornets. That is when money was spent to "build out"! At the same time the Supersonics were moved to OKC and the rest is history.

Without Katrina, OKC would still be trying to convince(splchk?) the NBA and the established public that they can support a major sport. It is stll people in America that cant believe that OKC has a major sports team in Oklahoma. It reminds me of the rise and shaky future of Columbus Ohio.

The underlined is true, the striked out part is feelings, clouding an otherwise good post.

what else was he gonna say?...lol..."nah we dont like playing here"...The old hornets brass is the reason the CP eventually left and why the fans really never fully bought into the team after the hornets lost to the Lakers in game 7 a few years ago...they were extremely cheap...which is ironic because now CP is playing for a well known cheapskate in the sports arena...but anyway...im not mad OKC got them a squad, but if anyone ever thought the hornets were going to relocate to OKC, then they are just silly...they had a contract with the state and would've had to pay to break it...
