Vivendi is selling all its 61% in activision, hopefully by july 22. Vivendi bought activision for 4the billi, expect the new tag to double that. Less than a few companies can afford that and EA is the most likely candidate..madden and sims money runs long.

Rumor has it the sale is because they feel cod has peaked and its port to next gen will be turbelent $$$ speaking only

again as company history has shown from early 90, buy compition and get rid of any games that conflicts with thier brand, especially since they brought cod creators onto the bf team recently...only need one shooter brah either the cod fans move over or find another game

Now we will get games with a bunch of dlc that could have been included the game after the release. Just like with Bioware. That's if they buy them out.

Vivendi is going broke...... and EA is not caking the way yall think. Last year was the first time in 5 years that they had turned a mere profit of only $76 million dollars. If they are to buy Activision they're going to have to borrow a lot of money and given their weak financial standing they are going to bury a lot of those brands at Activision. That being said I think Activision would take a "poison pill" or find a better company to sell merge with.

Activision-Blizzard on the other hand has one of the best looking track records of any gaming company in the industry, they've grown very well, they make a lot of money, they have high profit margins and in terms of acquisitions it is selling at a fair price for such quality. EA would be a bad choice, personally I think MS or Sony should step in, cuz Activision-Blizzard is a STEAL, if Sony can afford it it'd be a very good look for them as they produce and help develop a lot of their exclusives. If Microsoft were to buy it tho, they'd have a strong brand and franchise to compete with Nintendo & they could put their foot on Sony's neck LOLOL and w/ their interface they could really take Activision to the next level in every way.......

Let's see how this unravels.......

One more thing..... if EA does buy Activision mark my words..... that company will fall apart and split up in 3-6 years after the merger if they decide to go along with it. EA needs Activision to make them profitable and Activision is not gonna wanna inherit someone elses debt especially if the other guy don't make no money.

i mean niggas in the arcade were saying last year that MW3 would be the beginning of the end for the CoD franchise... history always repeats itself... activision doesnt have not a single game that has been the front runner for no more than 6 years or so do to overkilling... for evidence, see: guitar hero, tony hawk, spider-man , and star wars

Thats whats driving the sales warcraft is losing subs, blizz rarely pimps it other franchises and those other games takes years to make. Tony hawk, guitar hero fell off, rest of the games failed and COD wont last forever its peaked according to actitivisions investors

EA is ballin, but they don't have the money like that to outright buy Activision. The only companies that do are M$, Nintendo and Apple...and we know Apple don't care.

I wouldn't be surprised if M$ did it. Call of Duty is pretty much a 360 franchise...at least in terms of the best experience. That would be the nail in the coffin. I dunno how the Blizzard stuff is tied into all this, but having those games exclusive in some way to Windows or owed by M$ would be crazy. M$ definitely has the experience in the PC world to handle a Blizzard.
