I grew up in Compton and in Long Beach and this is true...it aint about color so much as it is about having on the wrong hat in the wrong hood...Its a lot of diff teams abbreviations and logos that represent diff gangs to every hood in la....Fuck around and have on the wrong hat in the wrong hood and its a wrap.

la's population is increasing, a lot midwest/east coast city populations are decreasing.
when a house gets abandoned in la, some mexican family moves in 5 days later. a house gets abandoned in baltimore, it's just left there to rot.
when a house gets burned down in la, a new one gets built in it's place, and some hipster moves in 5 days later. a house gets burned down in detroit, its just left there to rot.
fact: houses tend to look nicer when there are people living in them.

yeah, la has its share of bad areas, but its gotten alot better. nowadays, oakland, richmond, and stockton are worse.
