Can you be a Nas fan knowing that production-wise he's sticking to his guns and his formula after all the criticism he gets over his beat selection? Salaam Remi is despised by Lot of Nas fans but he's on board to do the bulk of the production.

I think Nas is the Goat and his music is my personal favorite but I won't ignore what other fans of his music say....

Fans #1 complaint about Nas is his production.


So do you cater to your fans and give them the slick production they desire or do you stick to your guns and make music from the heart and use production with a "90's feel" despite this being 2012.

I don't have a problem with Salaam Remi. Him and NaS have good chemistry


Remi has said his production for NaS is sparse because he wants his vocals more pronounced

I GOAT that but what about so-called Nas fans that will ignore his comments about his production and focus their opinions on Nas opinions instead of what he said about the direction of his music.

it seems we have two different types of fans of his music.

Everything Nas said made me want to check for the album more....especially the fact he going for a 90's feel. Recognition from Nas that the goat years of hiphop have yet to be surpassed.

Those to young to remember, need to check Nas first albums and see how far ahead of his time he was.

Been a fan since "Live At The Barbeque"....and I admit I was one of those fans who had criticism on Salaam's production because they're hit or miss, but whenever one of his productions sounds like a miss and doesn't hit hard, Nas' lyrics hit harder which saves me from using that fast forward. But there are many other producers that possibly would give Nas that 90's feel as well (Just Blaze, Black Milk, RZA are great examples)...

I admire the fact Nas is sticking to his guns regardless.
