Safe to say Graduation is a classic?

solid album, at least 3.5/4 - had some memorable tracks like Flashing Lights that was everywhere with just 1 or 2 subpar tracks on the whole album really, hardly any albums by anyone since have been that consistent. .. i think the album had the impact to call it a classic, in popularity/exposure and bringing new sounds to the game to also knockin 50 down from his peak after killing Curtis in album sales.

Graduation changed hip hop forever with the song "stronger" hitting number 1 on billboards with the nice sample from daft punk on with the Techno inspired beats.Also this album had samples from Michael Jackson,Elton john and daft punk on the same album. Go back to 2007 no rap album or any album from any genre of music was sonically or ambitious in its production as Kanye west Graduation!

I wouldn't say its a classic. Kanye made College Dropout & Late Registration, which are classics but Graduation is just a really good album. I wouldn't put it on a pedestal with the other two.

Classic Kanye is College Dropout. I could see some saying however, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy based off sound qlty.

Graduation to me was when Kanye brought his music to another level universally. Its my fav album from him and when I first put the CD in and good morning came on I knew this shit was gonna be great. Flashing lights to this day is still my fav kanye song. But every song on this album that was released as a single was a hit. Stronger,Good Life,flashing lights, and cant tell me nothing. But lets not forget big brother, I wonder, everything I am, and to a lesser extent barry bonds. Only song I havent listened to more than like 2x is champion.

It's good, but it's definitely not a classic. Songs like "Stronger" are the tracks that are holding it back.

so you can speak for the masses that nobody regularly skips 1 or 2 tracks from these albums? you don't skip any tracks from an album widely regarded as classic?

Like SunflowaSeeds said, it's obviously a matter of taste. My personal classics, no, I don't skip a single song off of those albums. From time to time, if the rest of the album is absolutely incredible, I might let a single song slide like "Breathe In, Breathe Out" on his first record. I just don't think that's anything better than an average song but to me, that album is a classic.

And yes, the masses don't consider Graduation a classic.
