A list of movies better than Will Smith's "Ali"

So recently, a friend of mine said something to the tune of Ali was one of the greatest movies EVER. When I called him on it and said I can name 20 movies off the top of my head that were better, he literally picked apart half of them, telling me why not. I'll give you my list and you tell me.

For the record: this is not a "hate on Ali, or Will Smith" session. I thought Ali was pretty good, maybe even great. And it's unquestionable Will's best work as an actor. I just don't think it stands up there with some of the greater or all-time greatest movies. Anyway here's the list I gave him:

Spike shoulda handled that. It had mad potential as a film


And Will ONLY nailed the fight scenes. He didn't sound anything like Ali in the film

Now compare that to Jamie Foxx's performance as Ray Charles

The bright spot of that movie was Jamie Foxx as Bundini. And yes, Enemy Of The State>>>>> Ali.

Only things on your list I really take issue with is No Country for Old Men and the Star Wars movies. The first I watched earlier this year for the first time ever and came away decidedly "Meh" about. And Star Wars would've been fine had I not ever re-watched it as an adult.

I come here (the IC) and I hear Scarface is "overrated". Everyone's entitled to their opinions. Fair enough

I saw that film for the first time as a kid, say 7 - 8 years with my pops and a couple of his friends back home in Nigeria. Then it was just an 'action' fim with shoot-ups .. Vivid memories


Watching Scarface as a full grown adult that film is nothng but sheer dopeness

That film has played a very huge part influencing HipHop music in general with a lot of themes

And of course not forgetting a mesmerising performance by Al Pacino
