My mothers family came to America from Egypt in 1922.

My father's family goes back to Virginia 1844.

Thats as far as I know.

i will say that all this will do is start a discussion where ppl will come in with their stereotypical, unresearched, face value logic that just shows how ignorant they really are

Most African Americans cant get much further than the 1860 slave schedules. However, most Europeans can (with a little fuckery) get back to B.C.E....

But then most African Americans have European YDNA, so if they find that connection they may be able to trace some biblical ancestors...

I did a YDNA sample and it came back that my male ancestors were West African Kru

I found out most of my fam is from southern Arkansas and mid south Louisiana. The farthest back I go on my mother side is a Mulatto couple from North Carolina that went to Arkansas in the 1800s. My father side is complicated cause it was so much cheating going on. My mother side was hard because of the same thing but at least the family was open about it. So I knew who to research and who not to research.

My friend did a DNA tracing and found out her peeps on her Mom's side where from the Yoruba province in Nigeria. I so want to do this, but I'm broke at the moment and need to save up. But I'll do this someday!
