Dude may seem awkward as hell off stage but he put on a hell of a show in his concerts

I saw him live twice and shit was amazing

He sounds exactly like on his records and has great crowd control plus the orchestra backin is some epic shit.

I just saw Nas for the first time a couple weeks back. That nigga is a master performer. I've never seen Jay though but I heard he's really good.

I've seen DMX twice and the energy that nigga brings is unparalleled by anybody I've ever seen. He brings in everything: energy, entertainment, he drops gems, spits poems, prays all type of shit. He even smokes blunts and passes around hennessy...that dude is crazy.

I do like Jay, but I don't consider him being the greatest in rap.
Even though, its a handful of mainstream artist like him, DMX, Kiss, Nas and etc still hanging on from the 90s era that still killing these remedial fools right now. Fuck those album sells, if you haven't stand out to be an intervade in hip hop, you don't mean shit.

the best thing about nas live is he plays his classic songs even if he has a newer album coming out. He just had N.I.G.G.E.R released around the time i saw him but he still came with more classic shit where some artists would have tried to promoted the latest albums songs more.

However while nas is dope live he could be better hes still kinda introverted on stage at times and he doesn't add extra effects to his songs like the best preformers do

I haven't seen Jay-Z live but i think niggas get caught up in the show and not him as a performer to be honest. I'm not saying he's a horrible performer but he once was and still not THAT great. Like i said though i think people get amped cuz of the show, which ain't a bad thing either. Y'all like the big arenas, him using bands, having suprise guests, him having suits etc which makes everything look big, in other word the production is great but Jay-Z himself ain't that great live.

Btw Jay-Z is a very talented MC though and i definitely listen and like his joints.

When you talk about live performers though you can talk Public Enemy, KRS, Method Man, Ice Cube, Busta Rhymes, DMX, DJ Quik, Dr. Dre, Xzibit, etc.

Anybody can get on a stage and rap into a microphone. Jay Z does not play instruments live nor does he dance. That is nowhere near GOAT status for a live show. Chris Brown has more energy and showsmanship in his concerts than Jay Z does. Ask beyonce because she was sneaking looks at him

Chris breezys live act has gotten more pop than contemperary R&B as time has progressed. He has hella pre recorded hooks and doesn't sing better live than on the track unlike the last generation of R&B performers. Jay Z does nothing out of the ordinary that any other rap performer does. Walk around the stage looking into a mic awkwardly while having props, shiny lights and special guests distract the fans from the fact that he is just a mere rapper when you got artists like Lady Gaga who sing, dance and play instruments live on stage for a more memorable performance. If his shows were that dope he wouldnt need a opener or a closer behind him. Like niggas aint seen that video of him at Glastonbury when they were throwing water bottles at him and booing him off the stage

act like lady gaga don't be having outrageous outfits like any other pop artists who pulls that same shit while she plays a dozen melancholy songs that all sound the same. and her bum ass has openers too. A festival is different from a tour hella artists get booed because many of them euro festivals awkwardly puts rappers between 2 artists from different genres its happened to john legend and many other hip hop and r and b artists.

If jay did what every other rapper did in a show then most rappers wouldn't have to play at small clubs and change certain shows to smaller venues due to lack of crowds. Too many rappers try to just scream yell and be "hype" without effectively sharing their music. People like jays shows because he is himself not a fake ra ra cheerleader with 7 hype men on stage like some of these new rappers ive seen be a dissapointment live.
