Who had the bigger impact in pop culture? Dave Chappelle or Seth Macfarlane

Both came in the game like a breath of fresh air... Both have the same style of comedy imo...

Family was cancelled and went to Adult Swim where it got its break... Now every show( cartoon and sitcoms) are copying the style...

Chappelle was a D list actor in the 90s but once his show came to Comedy Central he helped start the resurgence of hip hop movement... I won't even get into who he birth as far as comedian and shows....

When you say impact, Family Guy is on Fox and syndicated on like 3 other channels. Everybody got Fox, even without cable. Chappelle's my dude, and all things being equal woulda probably had a bigger impact, but he was on Comedy Central and just through sheer numbers can't win this argument.

I do assume that Fox is seen more than Comedy central but, Chapelle is played on other non cable channels in reruns.

Would have to see examples of there effect because only thing I remember of the Chappelle show was "Rick James bitch!" being big. And I always thought Macfarlane's stuff was influenced by pop culture. Didn't really have people following him. Was just sort've..South Park without the messages they put in some of their episodes.

How about having a TV show on a prime time network for 10 seasons? How about have not one but 2 spin off shows? Its first two seasons alone sold 1.6 million DVDs while the second volume sold another million. Vol7. sold 250K in its first week! Seth has 2 Prime Time Emmys and just co-starred in a major motion picture. Like I said ITS NOT CLOSE!

In terms of Hollywood status and numbers, Seth is bigger obviously... I dont think that's what most of were talking about though when we said "impact".

Dave has a bigger impact because he was saying something, Seth McFarland doesn't say shit. He just does shocking comedy mostly. Cheap laughs. No content.
