I think Jay Z has been successful for so long and has achieved so much that people feel the need to downgrade his greatness. After winning so much, its human nature to root for the underdog, hence the recent trend of calling Nas the GOAT. Life is Goo gets the nod over BP3 but over American Gangster??? Cmon son!

AG was dope as fuck, but LIG is that shit and Nas imo has always been that dude. The lyricism and the creativity of the stories are what I think puts him (and that album) over Jigga. I don't need a rapper to entertain me, I need to be feeling the lyrics and craftsmanship of the songs.

The Dynasty (Roc-La-Familia) album was not a JayZ solo album it was a Roc-Fella compilation similar to Self Made Vol 1-2 &
Ryde or Die Vol 1-2.


that album was only marketed as a JayZ album for promotional purposes and you got Beanie Sigel on 9 of the 16 tracks and Memphis Bleek on 7 of the 16 tracks.

I don't thick you can realisticy call an album a Solo project if another artist (Sigel) is featured on more than half the songs, you can call it a collab album at that point.

The dynasty album is a jay solo album. In an old XXL magazine they said it was suppose to be a Roc album but halfway through it became a jay album. Thats when he recorded I just Wanna Love Ya and a bunch of solo songs toward the end. Saying Dynasty isnt a Jay solo album is like saying Vol 2 isnt a Jay album.
