Mac Miller sued for another 10 million

Here we go again: Mac Miller's being sued for $10 million over a sample used on his Macadelic mixtape. The suit was filed by an artist named Patrick Berlinquette, who also goes by Warm Speakers. He claims that his song "The World Around You," which was copyrighted in 2011, was stolen by Miller for use on Macadelic's "Fuck 'Em All."

In the complaint, Berlinquette states that "[Miller] uses other people’s music because it’s easier, cheaper, and faster than creating his own." It continues: "Miller seeks to capitalize on the common misconception in Copyright Law that people whose music he takes have no remedy if he gives their music away for free."

Berlinquette outlines in the complaint, which also names Rostrum Records and DatPiff, that he is suing for willful infringement and violation of Copyright Law and New York’s General Business Law. He is also seeking a permanent injunction on the track.

Miller actually gave Berlinquette a shout out about the sample this past June:

This is the second time in the past few months that Miller has been sued over a track on one of his mixtapes. Previously, it was Lord Finesse who sent papers to the Pittsburgh rapper.
