T/S has a point. I would support it regardless but let's not pretend the Dream Act wasn't specifically geared towards reaching out to the Hispanic vote. But on the other hand what exactly can Obama do for Black America? Unemployment and gun laws aren't changing anytime soon.

Racial issues aside, what about him saying he was going to protect medical marijuana? The NDAA? Attacking Libya and Yemen without congressional approval? Expanding executive authority more than nearly any president before him. Introducing drone use over US soil? Impending attacks on Iran and Syria?

To some degree he does. You don't think his ability to change the discrepancy on the crack cocaine laws show that he has some ability to help people?

Obama To Announce New Initiative To Boost Black Educational Outcomes

The Obama administration has launched the first steps of an ambitious plan to dramatically improve academic achievement among African-American students from the “cradle to career.”

President Obama signed an executive order last week, which established the first ever White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for African-Americans.

The new initiative will coordinate federal agencies, various partners and communities nationwide. Its charge will include seeking and sharing evidence-based `best practices’ around the critical issue of black student achievement.

The initiative has sweeping goals. They include providing African-American students with greater access to high-level, rigorous course work and support services; developing and retaining greater numbers of top-notch African-American teachers and principals; reducing dropout rates and increasing college access; and expanding access to quality adult education, literacy, and technical programs.

President Obama recently told an audience at the National Urban League convention in New Orleans, he wanted to ensure “every child has greater access to a complete and competitive education from the time they’re born,” with pathways to high school and college graduation, and a productive career.

So what should he had said? I'm a president for only black people? How does that work out for him when he tries to get bills passed? What about the white votes to help him stay in office? He was voted in as President of the United States, not President of the black folks. And if he was, niggas be talking shit about that.

We gotta give him credit somewhere. I don't trust government but at the same time, Obama got my full support. The man stepped into one of the worst situations left by one stupid ass former president. And he did quite well taking the backlash while fighting to get America's economy, health plan and jobs in order.

Elouise Cobell, a member of the Blackfeet Tribe from Browning, Montana, the lead plaintiff in the Indian case, called the signing ceremony "breathtaking," adding that she did not expect it to happen in her lifetime. Cobell filed the suit 14 years ago and led efforts to reach the $3.4 billion settlement a year ago and then push it through the House of Representatives and the Senate.
