I took a bunch of english courses because I had my head up my ass at that age and I never bought books for my Shakespeare class or my modern lit class. Aced all of them. I even wrote a final paper called Fuck Shakespeare.

Bruh.....amazon or find a store locally i forget what they are called they sell the previous version of the current version for 10-20 dollars and the only thing different about the 2 is a few pages. Once an instructer showed me that bs is was on.

LOL not really you don't, but just to read those dumb ass stories which I read in every class. I was'nt buying a book to read one or two stories. And by Journalism being what I went for, which is part of the English program we had to write those long ass essays for answers. Shit sucked yo! smh

You should have went to your first day of classes, gotten the syllabus from your professor's and most of them would have said which books you will and won't be using over the course of the semester, or you could have asked them after class which books should you buy first/need most immediately. This is why they often say it's a bad idea to pre-order your books for class based on the syllabus being posted online because for majority of your classes you won't use all the books, or the library has enough copies of the books so that when the class does need them you just go borrow it from the library instead of spending $50 for a book you only read one chapter of in class the whole semester.

I have 4 classes and I need 6 books and they cost approximately $750. I do get 300 from the VA for books but by the time I get that money the semester is halfway over.
