'The Amazing Spider-Man'

Sony's "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" seems to be coming together faster than expected, as sources tell Variety the studio is in early talks with Jamie Foxx to play the villain in the movie.
Sources also told Variety that Foxx would play Electro, and Foxx later tweeted, "Dressed up as Electro for Halloween last night. Costume fits well."

Electro is the alter ego of Max Dillon, an enemy of Spider-Man who gains the ability to control electricity after being struck by lightning. Created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, the character first appeared in "The Amazing Spider-Man #9" in February 1964.

In "The Amazing Spider-Man's" post-credit sequence, set inside Dr. Curt Connors' cell at an asylum, the Lizard is approached by a mysterious, shadowy figure (Michael Massee) who asks if Peter Parker knows the truth about his father. Lightning features prominently in the scene, prompting auds to speculate that Electro would be featured in the sequel.

Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone are onboard to return, with Shailene Woodley in talks to join the cast as well. Marc Webb is set to return to direct.

Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach are producing the sequel, whose screenplay will be credited to frequent tentpole scribes Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, as well as Jeff Pinkner, based on a previous draft by James Vanderbilt. "The Amazing Spider-Man" grossed $751 million worldwide, and the sequel is skedded to swing into theaters in 3D on May 2, 2014.

As for Foxx, Sony has already begun building a relationship with the thesp. The studio will be distributing "Django Unchained" overseas, and Foxx is starring alongside Channing Tatum in "White House Down," which Sony is viewing as one of its major tentpoles next summer.

according to comic sites the villains are mysterio because of his easter egg at the end of the first and now electro.

however sony has said they want to tie the upcoming venom movie and this together like the avengers so we may get another easter egg like the amazing spider man. if you pay attention you see hints in the oscorp labs

I have to admit, when I first heard about the reboot I was prepared to hate it...but I think from the standpoint of staying true to source material, I like where this is headed. More wisecracks, playing up on Peter's intelligence/scientific acumen, different villains, more built-in (long term) back story and drama rather than personal relationship angst.

jamie foxx as electro? foh, that shit will suck horribly. The first movie was better than sam raimi's cause sam raimi's version was horrible.

I thought I saw a good direction with spiderman. Kinda thought they were gonna invite Norman Osborne, Kingpin, Tombstone, Chameleon and Shocker in this one but uhh fuck it. I ain't watching no more of this shit. I'll stick to the avengers.

Am I the only one that wants to see carnage in the next spiderman movie? I think it's bout time we get this symbiote saga on film. I also think it's time to start the secret wars saga. All the people involved in it already been introduced in movies already. Make the movie into two parts, release one 1 year and the other the next.

I blame Conan being a fuck up due to a poor director, not actor. We talking about the nigga that directed pathfinder.

Jason Momoa's a pretty decent actor and you obviously don't read comics cause electro is not black. Momoa has the voice, size and personality to play electro or shocker.

You can't choose a nigga just based on having an Oscar cause otherwise, why don't they use Denzel or Will Smith.
