Polygamy/ Polygyny. So what's the problem?

I was reading this cool book by Musamaali Nangoli called "No More Lies About Africa." They have a section where they talk about polygamy being the norm. The first wife being the main wife and other stuff. This book is a must have, don't sleep.



Anyway

What i want to know is why do us Americans view polygamy as taboo. I really think this polygamy thing can work out. Women out number men, so what's the problem? Some women that don't like the idea of polygamy/ polygyny say some of the most common statements like "I don't like to share." Then have the nerve to say they support polyandry. Sometimes i think this country is backwards. Some states support homosexual marriage but not polygamist. That's not right b. Shit don't make no sense to me.

I hope this changes in the near future and men are allowed to marry as many wives as they want in America. Of course you got to be man enough to support or dont even do it.

Ladies of the IC, do y'all support polygamy? Fellas of the IC that have more than one wifey, share your story of how y'all did it. Im trying to get another wifey b and my lady is down with it.

With that said. How many people have the right mentality and financial know-how for polygamy in the US? The average American ain't built for that, they're too insecure, petty, immature, selfish, and brainwashed to undergo such an endeavor that is polygamy in a mature manner.

As to the homosexual marriage part I agree, because polygamy is more natural than a homosexual marriage, but as you said the US is ass backwards.

Polygamy might have some negative consequences now that I think about it.

It can be bad for the gene pool. Generally speaking, the only men that are getting women will be the wealthier ones. This means the amount of genetic variation would decrease as it would be less men knocking up more women (In polygamous countries it is common for rich men to have a monopoly on the women). Money has a tendency to stay within families so it will be the same men knocking up these women. Over time this might lead to problems due to the decrease in heterogeneity.

that would be better cause then there's more males in the gene pool to facilitate more variation.

Generally what has been happening though is extremely wealthy dudes build harems and then less rich dudes get the scraps
