I don't celebrate, so i could give a shit.

The worst part about the holidays is all the good TV programming is gone. Gotta wait until the week after New Years before I even decide to watch TV again. Plus all the malls and stores are crowded or closed.

Christmas has gotta be the most annoying holiday if you don't celebrate.

4 months severence pay & benefits, still get bonus in February.

If the employer deems him unsuitable for valid reasons then fair, irregardless of holidays. Besides I'm sure it says nowhere in the contract that the employer can't fire an employee on Christmas Eve. Whether it's fair or foul based on an holiday is just an argumentum ad passiones.
