Are Tattoos Still Taboo...?

My partna(white)...Got a tat of prayin hands on his neck...He said he lost out on a job opp because of it a couple weeks ago...The job was at a hotel...

Ion have any tatts...But it always seemed so stupid to me that some employers actually won't hire you for having visible ones and/or piercings...As long as they aren't offensive and the individual is qualified, I really don't see the harm...

Also...I notice a lotta dudes on here and in real life that look down on tatted up girls...Again, as long as they look nice and have a meaning, that's more of a plus than a minus to me...

What's your stance on tattoos?...And do you think the "taboo" perception will change in the future?...I know they're a lot more accepted than they used to be, but it still seems like folk get judged just for havin em...Is it really that big of a deal?

This fitting in and standing out shit is too back and forth. First tats were about standing out now they about fitting in. People need to sit the fuck down and stop worrying about what another nigga doing (respectfully), do what thy wilt, and fuck the rest.

Some people think I'm weird because I don't have a tattoo. I use to think about getting one and I'm glad I didn't do it. It look good on some females tho. Not the ones that over did it.

I wonder who's the first culture that had tattoo's. Probably Africans.

Tattoos are mainstream. Although jobs still reject on basis of visible tattoos they arent as looked down upon as they once were.

It's sad that the 'art form' that is tattooing seems to be lost. I see so many generic tattoos that are got because they're 'fashionable'.

They can be unique when they're personally designed and actually mean something. Not just the bog standard tribal tattoo that everyone seems to have.

To a point. If somebody got eminbright colors on their neck and all over their arms, It can instantly turn people off or surprise them. One time i saw a white dude on the bus with his name in cursive on his neck. Its ridiculous cause anybody in a crowd could yell out his name to be funny and he not know who it is.

I do not have tattoos nor do I care to get any.Hell most of my friends have tattoos they always ask me when I'm going to get some.

no not taboo at all. its actually more accepted mainstream than ever before. but yeah (most) employers are still going to look down on being tatted up crazy (neck tats, sleeves, etc etc).. and with the economy still bouncing back IMO employers are still looking for excuses not to hire folks (so being tatted up like weezy aint gon help the cause)

too each its own, I'll turn 30 in the 2013 and I'm tat free. i think tats can be dope, but now its just so many people getting them just to fit it, forgetting the intented originality..it kinda loses its luster IMO..
