Different people have different "goats"? or favorites? People aint robots? Since this is true Individuals will like what they like no amount of arguin will change that. But didnt mean to break up the latest Nas vs Jay z "who is better" battle royal. Now back to the action.

^^^^^ Where the fuck was Jay when this shyt was being dropped? He wasn't apart of it, and thats a fact! He didn't partake in the greatest era of hip hop, he did not compete!

The crucial question here is if Jay isn't the goat, then why has he outlasted all these cats like nas, snoop, mobb deep, ect and stayed relevant longer than they have?

Made this post in your just made thread asking the same question:

    It's like '93, '94, bout the year
That Big and Mack dropped and "Illmatic" rocked
Outta every rag drop, and the West had it locked
Everybody doing them, I'm still stretching on the block
Like "Damn, I'mma be a failure"
Surrounded by thugs, drugs, and drug paraphenalia

It's got to burn souls that Jay has outlasted all those niggas, bigger than them and more respected in the business.

It's not where you start homie, it's where you end up. You think for one second Snoop and all them dead niggas wouldn't change spots with Jay-z right now. These niggas doing club dates and Jay out here selling out 20k arenas and headlining 100k festivals.

Lets be honest, Jay-z career has been peaking since he got in the game. Niggas like Nas, Snoop, etc have been on a downward decline, they are damn near niche rappers now.

Nas last album can't even get anywhere close to gold. His last platinum album was that double disc disaster Streets Disciple, which came out nearly 10 years ago. If Jay isn't the goat, then why is he the only rapper from that 90's era who's still maintaining a high level of relevance, still going plat and still selling a bunch of records?

It aint about the past. A lot of people dont even be thinkin bout the past like that. Its 2013 thats what matters most and Jay z is still goin strong. Rather just give credit where due and keep it movin.

Jay is taking hiphop places it's never been before (Glastonbury, Yankee Stadium, T in the Park, Carnegie Hall, etc) and knocking down doors.

Fuck outta here on that note and that criteria Eminem is the GOAT!

Jay's the only one who's making good music and still selling tons of records. All these other weak ass, irrelevant rappers like nas, snoop, mobb deep aint getting no plaques.

nas is stuck at only 350k? serious? with all that promotion, behind the music, nfl commercial, performances on letterman/colbert show... and he's still only at 350k?

    damn....

jay would do those numbers that in half a week fam
