What is your approach to handling debt?

Do you budget to pay off things that you have purchased or would you stop paying on one thing to afford something else? Do you have some debt that you feel you shouldn't have to pay off and therefore don't?

My main approach is to not get in debt in the first place..for the most part, all of my expenses are managable and reasonable..cash for almost everything and no purchases beyond my means..I'm not trying to impress nobody outchea..if I can't comfortably afford it, I obviously don't need it..

First you have to stop accumulating debt.

If you can cut unneccessary spending do so. But put that aside.

If all you can afford at first is the minimun payments start there. But you have to have a plan to pay more to get it out the way faster.

It's always good to have a small line of credit somewhere..a best buy card or macy's..something like that..a good credit rating is for building equity as you get older..no credit is just as big of a credit risk as bad credit..most lenders see them as the same thing when figuring out the interest rates

i have a lot of old debt.....destroyed my credit before i was even 21.....i've been slowly but surely picking one thing at a time and paying it off.....i cant get credit on shit right now so i cant even make any new debt.....lucky me i guess lol
