Well it's that time of year again. That's right it's the Grammy coming on Sunday Night 2/10/13. Many Hip Hop fans feel the Grammy don't represent the culture and I would agree. » The Roots, Undun
» Nas, Life Is Good
» Rick Ross, God Forgives, I Don't
» 2 Chainz, Based on a T.R.U. Story

The Bold are my predictions. Now KanYe and Jay lead the All Time List of Grammy Winners and there are both up for several awards again. Hopefully the Grammy's switch it up instead of giving Jay, Ye and Eminem Grammy's like skittles. I won't be shocked if "N!ggas in Paris" or "Mercy" wins one though. I really hope NaS can pull out "Rap Album of the Year" but I hope he can finally win one. So what are you feelings or the Grammy? Should there be more Hip Hop categories? The Show is Sunday Night.

Here are NaS's nominations. He should of won one by now:

    Grammy Awards
2013, Best Rap Performance, Best Rap Song: "Daughters" (Pending)
2013, Best Rap Song: "Daughters" (Pending)
2013, Best Rap/Sung Collaboration: "Cherry Wine" feat. Amy Winehouse (Pending)
2013, Best Rap Album: Life is Good (Pending)
2010, Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group: "Too Many Rappers" (Nominated)
2009, Best Rap Solo Performance: "N.i.g.g.e.r. (The Slave and the Master)" (Nominated)
2009, Best Rap Album: Nas (Nominated)
2008, Best Rap Album: Hip-Hop Is Dead (Nominated)
2008, Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group: "Better Than I Ever Been" (Nominated)
2003, Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group: "The Essence" (Nominated)
2003, Best Short-Form Music Video: "One Mic" (Nominated)
2000, Best Rap Album: I Am (Nominated)
1997, Best Rap Solo Performance: "If I Ruled the World" (Nominated)

Shocked he got nominated for "Slave and the Master" cause that was an album cut, so props to the Grammy's for acknowledging a song like that (They didn't give him the award though). Also "The Essence" with AZ was a good nod. How the hell did "Classic" lose? they could of given NaS, Rakim and KRS One a Grammy all in one swoop, SMH. Funny only the "One Mic" video was the only thing nominated from "STILLmatic". NaS got Zero Grammy Nods from "ILLmatic, NaStradamus, God's Son and Street's Disciple".

I'm also surprised at how many times they nominated him. A lot of those songs shouldn't of been nominated. Here are Drake's nods:

"Over" Best Rap Solo Performance Nominated

    I've been doing some research.

Watch The throne album came out August 8, 2011
Niggas In Paris single released September 3, 2011
No Church In The Wild March 20, 2012

The eligibility period for this year's (2013) ceremony is Oct. 1, 2011, to Sept. 30, 2012.

Technically speaking "Niggas In Paris" shouldn't even be nominated.

Yea too bad the Grammy voters didn't realize that. Even then it still didn't really garner buzz like that until 2012. That shit is retarded either way

Actually it came out 9/13/11. But it wasn't submitted to mainstream radio until 11/8/2011 which is why it met the deadline. The same thing happen to that Goyte song, "Somebody that I use to know", it came out July 2011 but really didn't blow until the end of 2011 on radio, start of 2012. The Eligibility is about the current year. If the song takes off after that it can still be nominated the following year.

Ok I see why niggas be getting on Nas stans now very contradicting but hey look who they favorite artists is. I'm sorry too bust ya'll bubble but the Grammy's only get controversial with awards that come on TV.Drake is going too win this shit.
Bitch shut your mouth before I fuck it

I'm still a rap fan, microphone fiend
An insider like Russell Crowe, behind the scenes
You can be the hottest MC, literally leave the mic smoking
    No marketing and promotion
No 106 & Park, no TRL
Don't kill the messenger homey but don't expect to sell
    Viacom own MTV, VH1
    BET, five labels until BMG
Merged with Sony, EMI, Universal and WEA
Only four labels in the music industry bruh
All radio controlled by two companies
Just two rap magazines, read between the lines
Hip-hop used to be the expression of struggle with rhymes
Corporate monopolized, only certain shit shines
Only way to get radio and video and blow
They control what you say, and the images you show
CNN owned by AOL, own Time Warner
Trickle down effect of the New World Order
And you wonder why "Van Gogh" was killed
Same reason Dead Prez lost they deal, get real
I spit for the cabbage, grind with a mission
And put Capitol Records in missionary positions
Used to love H.E.R. like Common, but then you get signed
(Behind the Music) now I just fuck the music from behind

Magazine writers misprint you, take words out of context
And got the nerve to wonder why I'm vexed
    When I read the publication
I was like "Damn, was we in the same conversation?"
This for the rap conniseurs, magazine critics
Backpackers, rap stars with bullshit gimmicks
Fans, even the "Stans," the groupies and label executives
With corporate cards trickin my budget on coochie
Video chicks sucking dick between takes
Hoping to get saved, and thanks for the ass shake
Like Dave Chappelle in "Half Baked," need a backyotomy
And some of these thugs is into sodomy
Large print giveth, fine print taketh away
Your favorite rapper ain't recoup label take it away
Have a nigga tempted to take an AK, goin postal
Rap made me loco, hustle bicoastal
    (Why?) Because the West monopolize
Same ol' niggas tellin the same ol' lies
L.A. radio, quick to suck out of town dick
South support they own create international hits
Out of regional records, East coast create the buzz
Music capitol of the world, thought it wasn't when it was
And somehow manage to screw us
Call West coast gangster rap whack, then sold it back to us...
