thoughts on this?

KC has the #1 pick. They could've taken QB Geno Smith, who had a nice combine showing.

Guess they'll be drafting that Left Tackle #1 overall.

I actually think it's a decent move, even though I say mediocre in the title.... lets be honest, in the weak AFC West Alex Smith can win you a lot of games. He's an upgrade over Matt Cassel

it was a god move for the Chiefs Geno Smith ain't doing much in the league they can take a left tackle and let Albert walk. That would free up some cap money for them. Take Tyler wilson in the 3rd round and groom him

They could trade down and still take Geno if a team falls in love with another player. Just let Smith be a bridge QB

That's ALOT of money tied up in one position on a team with a lot of needs.

Frank Gore, Crabtree's emergence, Mawse, Davis and of course Harbaugh's genius made Smith look good last season. Let's see if he has the same success with the talent (I use that word loosely) in K.C. but I can't talk I'd take Smith over Mark "4.0 TO's per game" Sanchez.

Although KC finished horribly, their team is not devoid of talent.

Take the QBs off their respective teams, and I'd say the Chiefs are on par with the colts, maybe JUST slightly worse.

Now, Alex Smith is not Andrew Luck, so i don't expect 10-6, but i highly doubt they'll finish with less than 7 wins.

They face Oakland twice, Chargers twice, Jags, Titans, Browns, Bills, and the nfc east. They can get 8 wins outta that which would be a vast improvement.

LOL @ trading for a career back up QB. Have they not learned from Matt Cassal? Collin proved that the team and Harbaugh made Smith look descent.

    ^^ Damn at this.

The Niners will add talent to an already deep team.

I hope my Saints get some players on defense.

Not really a steal seeing as He was a #1 Overall Pick & they got back a 2nd. But still a good trade for them freeing up Cap & they can use one of those picks for a new backup QB.

Chiefs had 6 Pro bowlers this year, they are not a bad team Matt Cassel was just Ass loll. They can easily draft a QB still & Compete for the next 2 years with Smith while he develops. It was a good move Imo, Chiefs need some playoff experience & This will get the team to rally around Andy Reid

Originally i said good move for KC.

But thennnn you look at the fact its a 2ND roudn pick.

Unless Smith wins 9+ games, you can argue that you could have picked a QB in round 2 and win just as many games as Smith will this year (Andy Dalton, Russ Wilson, Kaeprenick all 2nd round picks )

If thye werent already, 49ers def my favorite to win it all now.

A team w/ no needs, now w/ basically a second 1st rnd pick. I bet they pick up a 1st rd talent who slides

good move for KC.... aint no great 1st round qbs available.... KC is able to get a great defensive player or lineman and get a good qb in return who was a former 1st round pick and who has played great for 2 years....
