BROOKLYN GO HARD--Teens take to the streets after the death of Kimani Gray

Last night, Brooklyn teenagers took to the streets to express their outrage over the death of Kimani Gray.

Gray, who was sixteen, was fatally shot eleven times by two plain clothes police officers. The officers claim that Gray pointed a gun at them as they approached him.

Witnesses, however, tell another story. Nevertheless, what began as a vigil for Gray quickly turned into a much more confrontational protest:

An orderly protest over the death of an armed 16-year-old turned into a riot in Brooklyn tonight after young people started lashing out at NYPD officers.

Between 60 and 100 rioters gathered around Church and Snyder Ave. in East Flatbush and threw bottles and other debris at police, witnesses said, following a vigil for Kimani Gray, 16, who was shot dead by two plainclothes officers over the weekend.

One person has been arrested, though no injuries have been reported.

They were lashing out at the NYPD, who they believe are responsible for the teen’s death.

I mean, his record has very little to do with whether he was actually in possession of a pistol that night.

Right now, I'm not concerned whether or not Kimani was a "good kid" or a "bad kid". Bad kids don't deserve to die unjustly by cops, either. The details surrounding his death as released by the NYPD are shady, vague, and full of holes, imo. I have a hard time believing that he would be stupid enough to aim a pistol at a cop car. Rekyia Boyd was killed by cops who claimed that they believed the cell phone a friend of hers was carrying was a gun. Cops aren't above making up wild accusations to try to cover their tracks when they let profiling and racialized thinking cause them to see things that aren't really there, wrongly taking a life in the process.

seems like with the invention of the internet, the world has gotten a whole lot more smaller, shit dont seem as far away as it use to when i was in my teens and twenties.

all this fucking technology to move the art of law enforcement out of the dark ages, and yet here we are.... still... using primitive tactics, millions and millions of dollars spent, and for what?!?!

I feel you but why is it hard to believe a member of the Bloods gang would aim a gun at cops or a cop car? There are several videos of him declaring his loyalty to the Bloods and even beating up other people.....not taking the cops side but to be honest, it's easy to believe a kid would aim a gun at cops, I held my first gun at age 17 and knew people younger then me who popped off with cops close by.

Mad people are being shot by cops all the time in NY, so I'm told. A friend of mine said that it's gotten to the point where people run the other way if they see one. If you've been to jail and have a history of getting in trouble with cops, I would think that you'd lay low than try to start shit, especially knowing how cops could kill you in a second. It doesn't make any sense to me.

I meant people filming on their phones. In some states, it's illegal to record the audio.
