    @sion thanks fam

and yeah, the covers in here are a problem. That J. Cole cover is so realistic, I can def imagine Cole dropping that. That Krit cover is something I wish Krit actually came out with lol. I'll post my vote in a few.
  • _Goldie__Goldie_ Posts: 30,257 Regulator
Damn this is closer than I thought, and I thought it would be. From lookin at the rosters before the albums dropped , I thought Skyline would take it. But now, I cant even call it. Yall both killed that shit tho.

album covers/tracklist: off the rip tony dubbs had some good covers but the power move cover hurt him imo, and the street king cover was just aight, ice came with it on EVERY cover imo. when it comes to tracklists, i like what ice did, especially with mannie who some might think wouldnt fit with most of his artists outside currensy, also i like the j. cole and pusha t tracklist, looks more interesting than they real life albums, for tony dubbs, i really like what he did with the kanye and big krit album, good usages of mike dean and lauren hill, and also the chris brown album seems inneresting and like something he needs to do in real life, but i think ice was a lil more consistent on the tracklist end. winner: ice
future sales: i think iceberg gets the edge here, not too many platinum sellers i can see on either team in this day and age, but i think the more consistent sales would be on ice's team, dubbs has a couple heavy hitters, but also some non factors when it comes to possible sales imo. winner: ice
future critical acclaim: tough category, for dubbs only album i can see not getting at least good critical acclaim is the yg and maybe power move albums, but once again i think ice was too consistent all the way through with his albums. winner: ice
longevity longevity kinda hard to call. i can see kanye and krit album being talked about for a while, maybe jeezy too cuz it remind me of the recession a lil bit, but i cant see game n khaled album last longer than a couple weeks, and with ice team its hard to call, im not the biggest pusha t fan i can see others bumpin his album a while, n j. cole albums dont last long for me but this one looks interesting, i can see myself bumping currensy's for a minute, gotta give ice the edge here
cohesion this one ill call a tie, both had good cohesion with only a couple of features or production choices that had me like, hmm ion kno, well this might could work.

Future Sales: Skyline has a pretty balanced attack as far as future sales go. How does Yeezus rebound after his last album tho? It seems as the supporting cast on Skyline may be able to have Yeezus back if the cohesion can hold up. RRR of course has Hov and he is going to move units together. With a good young squad of up and comers and Hov on the team, I don't see how RRR can't move units.

Future Critical Acclaim: This is just to close to call in my opinion. The potential of both labels to achieve critical acclaim is there for the taking. It's more of a question of how it all comes together.

Longevity: Again another close category. In the end I had to go with the proven heavy hitters in this one. Although RRR has a bunch of up and comers with potential, I will take the veterans of Skyline to hold it down and be there in the end.

Album Covers/Tracklist: Wow. The covers from both labels are great. What stood out for me though was how all of RRR have the same "feel" to them. It lets me know that they are a team and committed to being a team. That gives them the edge. The Tracklist for both labels look good and come together to form the overall feel of the labels.

Cohesion: RRR seems to mesh a little more than Skyline in this area. When looking at how they used the album covers and Tracklist to show a bond I believe they get the edge here.

    Winner: RRR

This was almost too close of a battle to call in the end though. Was almost a toss up. Good job by both labels.

Future Sales: Skyline will wheel in numbers from Ye and that Power Move album. I say the rest are gold worthy, with Khalid racking in plaques from singles. The Roc, however, got J.Cole who's going Gold or higher automatically. You got Jay who's platinum first month, and a Compilation that will practically follow it because of Jays influence. Here's the plot twist. I'ma give it Skyline because I think the depth of his label will push him over. Jeezy, Game, Chris Brown, YG and KRIT will wheel in more then Curren$y, Pusha and Jhene Akio.

Future Critical Acclaim: Skyline got classic albums for KRIT and Kanye. That Game and Jeezy album looks very solid. That YG LP would really catch folks attention. RRR got a classic album from Pusha T and Jay-Z. Curren$y's album got top notch production. That Jhene Akio album looks interesting. Tiebreaker for me: The RRR compilation will stand the test of time better than Power Move and DJ Khalid's album.

Longevity: The Roc. Like Malice said, I got to go with the proven hitters. Jay-Z is surrounded with youth and J.Cole, Wale and Jhene Akio will only get better with his support. Not to mention a fresh Pusha T getting production from Chad Hugo. More on this later, lol.

I don't see Kanye uplifting Game or Jeezy much further then they already are.

Album Covers: Just like last round, I'm splitting album covers and tracklist.
I'm a huge fan of that Jeezy cover on Skyline records. The KRIT album is pretty dope too.

    But bruh..

Rocafella Records got some hall of fame worthy covers. That got damn Curren$y cover is amazing. J.Coles EP really stands out too. I fucks with that White box on these covers. Jhene's cover looks fresh, and simple is better on that Compilation album. The creativity in RRR's covers gets the win for me. The only album on Skylines that don't include the rapper on it is KRITs.

Tracklist: It is just too hard to find many flaws in both tracklist. I like the creativity in both labels tracklist. Most of the collaborations make senses. There are a lot of dream collaborations through all of these albums. I really don't know who I'ma go with. RRR got the deeper production camp that will really mesh well with his artists sound. Same with Skyline, especially since KRIT and Kayne can lace up anybody. I'm running with RRR here. The tracklist and production credits for Spitta and Pusha just do it for me.

Cohesion: RRR. Overall, this label got the better production camp, and artists that will work well with each other. I can't help but think that RRR could start a dynasty. All of them are young enough to grow and with Jay at the helm.

    RRR with the W.
