EVO 2015 is here! The largest fighting game event of the year kicks off tomorrow, and with seven live streams, 9 main games, and thousands of players, one might be wondering how and where to find everything.

17_evospecguide.jpg

Tonight, we have put together a beginner's guide to EVO of sorts in hopes that we can make your viewing experience this weekend that much easier.

Contained in this story is information on all nine of the main games, where and when they are streaming, and which players to look out for. Of course, there are a plethora of amazing players competing this weekend, but we chose a handful that we felt newcomers watching EVO for the first time might have fun looking out for.

Additionally, we've included information on the various side tournament set to take place at the event.

There is a ton of info here, so hit that jump and get ready for EVO 2015!

Ultra Street Fighter 4

Overview: Ultra Street Fighter 4 is EVO 2015's big finale. This year marks the second time the latest version has been featured on the EVO main stage and the Street Fighter 4 series has been on the EVO line up since its inception.

This year, a whopping 2,227 players have registered to compete in the tournament. With a guaranteed spot in the Capcom Cup going to the winner of EVO, the USF4 portion of the event is going to reach maximum levels of hype.

Stream: You can catch Ultra Street Fighter 4 on two days of EVO on the following streams:

Friday: SRKEVO1 / Capcom Fighters

Sunday: SRKEVO1

Start time: Friday, 8 a.m. PDT / 11 a.m. EDT

Player(s) to watch: MCZ|Mago has made great strides as of late with his switch from Fei Long to Yang. He had a strong showing at CEO 2015 and has won two Capcom Pro Tour premiere events this year: South East Asia Major and Hypespotting.

MD|Luffy is last year's champion and the first to take home the EVO gold in Ultra Street Fighter 4. His Rose toppled some of the best players in the top 8 last year, including Bonchan's lethal Sagat, Snake Eyez's incredible Zangief, and RZR|Fuudo's calculated Fei Long. Don't ever underestimate an EVO champ.

MCZ|Daigo retains the nickname "the beast" for a reason. Always the top-level competitor, Daigo's Evil Ryu is among the greatest on the tournament scene today. Daigo has a number of 1st place wins under his belt this year, one of which being the 4th Topanga A League where he placed above other killer competitors including Luffy, last year's EVO champion.

Super Smash Bros. Wii U

Overview: Super Smash Bros. Wii U is making its EVO debut this year.

Although the game isn't even a year old, Smash 4 has received the second highest number of entrants at this year's event. 1,926 Wii U players will enter the ring, but only one will go home with the 1st place victory.

Stream: You can catch Super Smash Bros. Wii U on all three days of EVO broadcast on the following streams:

Friday: SRKEVO4
Saturday: SRKEVO1
Sunday: SRKEVO1

Start time: Friday, 8 a.m. PDT / 11 a.m. EDT

Player(s) to watch:

ZeRo has shown himself as the true lord over Super Smash Bros. Wii U for its first year as a tournament game. He has won any event he's entered, and excels with several characters. While players like Nairo and IQHQ|DaBuz might have given him a slight run for money at certain points, he's never been in any true danger of not claiming victory. If there was any time to bring ZeRo down from his throne, it's now.

Super Smash Bros. Melee

Overview: Since Super Smash Bros. Melee returned to the EVO stage (due to popular demand) three years ago, it continues to bring in high entrant numbers.

This year, Melee was just shy of hitting the same amount of players as the latest in its series. 1,869 Gamecube players will battle for the top spot, but they'll have to get through the best of the best to do so.

Stream: Super Smash Bros. Melee will be streamed all weekend on the following:

Friday: SRKEVO2
Saturday: SRKEVO2 / SRKEVO3
Sunday: SRKEVO1

Start time: Friday, 8 a.m. PDT / 11 a.m. EDT

Player(s) to watch:

TSM|Leffen is the kid to beat right now. After a continuous rise last year as the so-called "Godslayer", he now has three tournaments in a row under his belt - CEO 2015, FC Return and WTFox. Will EVO be his fourpeat?

C9|Mang0 said it best last year - reaching up to the legacy he has is almost impossible. With two EVO championships under his belt, a MLG victory and countless golden titles throughout the years, he's definitely the top dog when it comes to long-term consistency, and he's looking to turn this year into his EVO hattrick.

Alliance|Armada has shown up in a big way this year, opting to use Fox much more than his signature Peach (which he still keeps around for certain matchups). After WTFox, C9|Mango said that he'd "rather fight Leffen any day than Armada", to sleep on the so-called Swedish Sniper would be a grave mistake indeed.

Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3

Overview: Marvel is not dead! Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 returns to EVO and is ready to bring the hype all over again. This year, 816 Marvel players are gearing up to throw foot dives, Helm Breakers, and zoop zoop their way to victory.

Stream: To catch UMvC3 this year, be sure to tune into the latter two days of the event.

Saturday: SRKEVO2 / SRKEVO3 / SRKEVO6
Sunday: SRKEVO1

Start time: Saturday, 8 a.m. PDT / 11 a.m. EDT

Player(s) to watch:

As it stands right now, EG|Justin Wong is definitely the man to beat. His Wolverine, Storm, Akuma team defines offensive rushdown and with Akuma as an anchor, Justin is never completely out of the fight. Oh, and did I mention that he's the EVO 2014 UMvC3 champion?

Mortal Kombat X

Overview: Mortal Kombat is back at EVO, but this time we're going to see the latest installment in the franchise: Mortal Kombat X.

Despite the game's infancy (having only been released since April of this year), over 1,000 players entered the tournament. 1,162, to be exact.

Stream: Be sure to catch Mortal Kombat X this weekend on the following streams:

Saturday: SRKEVO4 / SRKEVO7 / SRKEVO1
Sunday: SRKEVO1

Start time: Saturday, 8 a.m. PDT / 11 a.m. EDT

Player(s) to watch:

Cr|SonicFox is the most prominent player in Mortal Kombat X at this point in time. Coming off of a huge win at the ESL Mortal Kombat X season 1 finale -- from which he took home $60,000 -- SonicFox is the player to look out for at EVO 2015. Known mostly for his outstanding Erron Black, SonicFox is also fluent in the art of playing Tanya and most recently, Kitana.

Killer Instinct

Overview: Killer Instinct is back on the EVO main stage, only this time we'll be seeing its 2nd season.

Although it brought in the least amount of entrants of all the main EVO games this year, Killer Instinct will surely bring the hype.

Stream: All of Killer Instinct will be played out on Saturday on SRKEVO7 and SRKEVO1.

Start time: Saturday, 8 a.m. PDT / 11 a.m. EDT

Player(s) to watch:

TSC|CD Jr. won the very first Killer Instinct EVO tournament playing Sadira. Though the character saw a number of big changes in season 2, it didn't slow CD Jr. down. Throughout the year, we've seen an incredibly strong showing from his Maya, and he'll surely prove a formidable opponent again this year.

    Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN-

Overview: Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- is making its EVO debut this year and is taking BlazBlue's spot in the main EVO line up this time around.

The GG players are making it known that the love and support for the game is real, as 968 entrants are registered to compete at the tournament.

Stream: Those looking for Xrd action can tune in any day this weekend.

    Friday: SRKEVO6
    Saturday: SRKEVO6 / SRKEVO3
    Sunday: SRKEVO1

    Start time: Friday, 2 p.m. PDT / 5 p.m. EDT

    Player(s) to watch:

Two of Guilty Gear's strongest are confirmed to be in attendance at EVO 2015. Both NeoGAF|Ogawa and Zeveron|Kazunoko will be playing at the event and bringing their devastating Zato-1 and Sol Badguy, respectively.

    Persona 4 Arena Ultimax

Overview: This is the first year we'll be seeing Ultimax played at the EVO tournament series. Not only that, but Persona is moving up from last year's side tourney status and joining the ranks of games like USF4 and MKX as a main EVO game this year.

With 437 players set to compete this weekend and a number of top-notch warriors filling the brackets, Persona 4 Arena Ultimax is sure to get EVO started with a bang.

Stream: Persona 4 Arena Ultimax will be played in its entirety on Friday on SRKEVO3 and SRKEVO1.

    Start time: Friday, 8 a.m. PDT / 11 a.m. EDT

    Player(s) to watch:

BananaKen was a strong contender even back in the first installment of Persona 4: Arena, and while everyone expects him to do well, he turned a lot of heads at CEO 2015 when he brought down top winner candidate NB|Souji, and from Loser's bracket no less, and this was after losing an exhibition against that very same player with a score of 1-5. You can bet that BananaKen will be bringing out his Shadow Labrys in full force at EVO, and players, no matter where they're from, best beware.
    Tekken 7

Overview: Tekken 7 is a game that is only available in arcades at this time, and yet, we'll be seeing it as a main game at this year's EVO.

The exclusivity of the title did not deter players from entering, as 458 competitors are all set to duke it out in Bandai Namco's 3D fighter weekend.

Stream: Tekken 7 will make an appearance on two days this weekend:

    Friday: SRKEVO5
    Saturday: SRKEVO5 and SRKEVO1

    Start time: Friday, 8 a.m. PDT / 11 a.m. EDT

In silence there must be movement, and in motion, there must be silence.
Small movement is better than big,
No movement is better than small.
Silence is the Mother of all movement.
In Movement you should be like a Dragon or a Tiger.
In Non-Movement you should be like a Buddha.
