i chalk this up to bad management from the twins organization

i cannot remember a prospect being pushed this unnecessarily through the minors

before being called up buxton played less than one full major league season above single a and he didnt dominate in any of those levels

what the twins did with buxton would be loosely similar to the yankees calling up gleyber torres last year (except torres hasnt been hurt and lost a season like buxton has)

I dropped him in fantasy fuck that lol. Probably foolish to, but I refuse to believe he is this bad. He has to get better.

Swept the Padres only to turn around and get swept by the Nats. We can't beat those clowns

Glad that we swept the Twins; time to do the same thing to the White Sox.

cuban jesus aka yoan moncada is holding one of my 4 bench spots so i couldnt afford to hang onto buxton any longer either

i dropped him for cesar hernandez early last week
heres the thing about buxton and his perceived fantasy value though

his prospect star always had a lot of defense factored into it -- as touted as he was he was always a much better real life prospect than fantasy prospect to me -- assuming his bat doesnt get him sent to the minors buxton will be in the conversation for a gold glove at a very premium position

this is how fangraphs graded buxtons skills

    notice his three best

    speed
    field
    throw

his raw power rating is great too but defensive prowess doesnt score fantasy points and thats arguably always been the surest and strongest part of buxtons game

outside of the bullpen none of the white sox assumed trade assets has been looking very good

unless you considered avi a trade asset coming into the season

theyd better reap a windfall from the relievers because right now Q isnt going to bring the return theyll need and frazier, melky, abreu and the rest are fast losing any value they might have had -- whether due to poor performance or injury it will definitely put a crimp in an accelerated rebuild

they needed these guys to perform

to make matters worse theyre one game from being .500

at this mediocre rate the white sox will be out of the seth beer sweepstakes
