Nevermind people were saying right after that tweet the Celtics started following Melo on IG but they had been following him for a while

I don't think Ainge would make that trade unless it was heavily slanted in our favor, and I don't know how that could work. I hate that fucking Mormon, but I don't think Melo is on the radar.

My wish is PG or Jimmy Buckets, anything else will be a disappointment.

We need a big too. Horford is cool, but this deficit of rebounding is killing the C's.

A solid big and a wing like Buckets or PG puts us in contention if we can maintain our depth.

After all this talk and barely making a play for boogie we better land someone of significance. With ainge the deals that gets done are the ones that come out of nowhere (IT, rondo deal, Jeff green and Perkins ) so idk what to expect

This aint happening tonight go to bed lls

Zach Lowe said celtics zeroing in on jimmy and pg(pacers not taking calls on pg) bulls are on jimmy but they have to get a deal they like.I do think they will acquire one of them but in june after the lottery.

that's lowe, ric bucher and now windhorst who all have said c's focused on butler.I think Paul George is a legit option too if bird changes his mind.

how plugged is chris mannix in boston?

this jimmy shit sounded dead but mannix was on the radio earlier in the morning and he said that a butler deal to the celtics will go down to the 2:55 deadline and he thinks boston will throw the 2017 brooklyn pick

thats the hang up it seems

danny doesnt want to throw in the 2017 brooklyn pick but mannix is saying he thinks he will on thursday

He works with woj at the vertical. That's been the hold up ainge doesnt want to give up the '17 nets pick for jimmy which is surprising

fo puppet kc ironically tweets this which is a blatant posturing negotiating tactic.Jimmy is available

Mannix is pretty plugged in he's a studio analyst and I was hearing this this morning I didn't know it came from him though, but I thought the whole time the 2017 pick was the centerpiece of the whole deal and it was the additional pieces that was hanging it up, I want to trade for Jimmy but we could trade too much and I won't like it at all

i forgot he was with the vertical now i had it my mind that he was still with SI

bulls trade jimmy now and this year brooklyn pick ends up being #4 im gonna be sick

if boston isnt giving up both brooklyn picks then the bulls better not trade jimmy until its known exactly what the actual 2017 brooklyn draft pick will be

i was all for trading jimmy in hopes that the bulls would be bad enough to get themselves in the mix for a top 5 pick but it might be too late for that

I agree which is why I think june is more realistic but the bulls playing wit fire cuz if hayward bounces or bird decides to trade pg(both long shots) then the bulls lose leverage. If the bulls and celtics don't make a trade by thursday or on draft day it aint happening ever.

Yea the bulls hustled backwards this year from signing rondo and wade who both were awful fits and completely wasting a year of jimmys prime then not being bad enough to get a top 8 pick and they about to lose the kings 1st round pick.If they don't capitalize on jimmys peak value either thursday or by june/july the future lookin bleak.

yeah he said it on the dan patrick show this morning

i still think boston sits on the nets pick

    uses it this summer

    makes a run at heyward

if they miss theyll go for jimmy/pg

it would be great to have butler or to a lesser extent PG but considering he would likely have to empty the war chest to get them -- then i could see him thinking its best to just wait it out -- hayward + the 17 brooklyn pick is probably better than butler or PG (plus whatever assets he would have to give up - likely at least two of bradley, crowder, brown or smart)

let that brooklyn pick be 4 though and danny gonna have to come up off more than had he not waited

giannis peak will coincide with butlers downturn

    central division foes

gotta capitalize on his value now

    cant rule out suns though

they have the pieces and desperation to make something happen too

especially if they win the lottery

David aldridge said "the jimmy butler boston talks are real and ainge doesn't want to give up crowder"

Woj said last night the bulls like more than one pg in the '17 draft he believes a deal with get done at the last second thursday right before the deadline he said both teams have what the other wants.Woj also said if a deal can't get done by the draft and boston keeps the pick and drafts a pg fultz/ball it would upset lil zeke.

I heard mannix say this last night too

bottom line is the bulls and c's are talking right now.Don't mean anything will happen but they are talking jimmy currently

I don't want to give up Crowder either, that contract is too fucking good to give up, leads the team in +/-, he's a locker room presence and one of our better shooters, want him and Butler starting together, I can live with Smart because you're getting basically everything Smart gives you plus more with Butler, Smart is not untouchable to me, Bradley off the bench would be such an ideal situation, you get that for at least the rest of this year and next unless you can negotiate a deal next year and keep him around longer but I doubt that happens, he'll walk and get overpaid to be a starter somewhere else, Brown is the wild card, they love him hear and he's shown promise but me myself I wouldn't call him untouchable

Man moving crowder might be worth it for a player of butler's caliber, if this pick ends up #4 we're gonna be sick and with IT being mad if they draft another point guard I say fuck it let's close the deal. I'm still kinda salty we didn't make an attempt on boogie so we can't come away empty handed here.

The Boston Celtics and Chicago Bulls continue to discuss a Jimmy Butler trade.

"I think the Jimmy Butler stuff is real," said Aldridge. "They have been trying to get Jimmy Butler. He doesn't want to give up Jae Crowder. That's the main sticking point there and he doesn't want to give up Jae Crowder in a deal and that's the guy the Bulls are insisting on right now in any package for Butler.

"The picks will work themselves out. Boston has about 600 first round picks in the next five years, so they'll make it work. That part I'm not worried about. I think it really comes down to Crowder. In terms of real tangible players, I think Danny would like to go into the playoffs with Smart, Bradley, Crowder defensively along with Butler, Horford, Thomas offensively. I think he feels like that's the only way they'll be able to complete with a team like Cleveland.

"Chicago, I think rightly, is saying, 'If you want our best player, we're not going to just do it for picks. We're not going to take guys you aren't going to keep on your roster. We want a guy that is going to be able to grow with us, along with one of those high picks.' They want a top half of the lottery type pick for Jimmy Butler, along with a starting established player under contract. I understand that from Chicago's point of view."

here's the david aldridge quote.Crowder shouldn't a deal breaker for either team imo

I understand the celtics perspective and the bulls but this shouldn't be a hold up to a trade.

woj said the bulls turned down both nets picks for jimmy, they wanted core pieces why da fuck would you think a team trying to compete would give up players in their rotation. They better revisit that offer on draft day or I'm about to stop watching.

They might believe (or even know) they are getting Hayward this offseason, once you get Hayward Crowder and others become more expendable and maybe we swing a deal for Butler

Or they love Fultz and don't truly believe in IT

Some people are saying it's a legit chance for Hayward around the league
