An exaggeration is when Ice Cube said he saw a blimp and it said Ice Cube's a pimp, anybody with common sense knows that didn't really happen. Falsifying is a rapper taking another person's identity and pretending to be that person and creating a gimmick based on the music that rapper makes.

And you like Cube, so if he says something outlandish its ok. You dont like Ross so if he says somethng outlandish its not ok. See how that works and how stupid it is.

Yes its O.K. for Ice Cube untill he gets confronted by Monster Cody and his middle-class upbringing becomes a discussion.

People are hypocrites, they give a pass to artist's like Nas & Emenim who say fabricated outlandish shit, because they have so-called "lyrics"
but then they criticize Plies or Ross when they do the same thing.

Its always the hatin' ass New Yorkers mad because the South has been killin' the game with critical acclaim, record sales and 5 mics
while Fat Joe cant even sell a hotcake in a waffle-house.

The difference is if you ask Cube if he really saw his name on a blimp he would laugh it off, and tell the truth! We all know what Ross would do...

    They dont understand the difference.

There is a difference between I own a car that can turn into a boat or an airplane, and saying I am Tony Montana and I sell drugs I run my town I am a boss and then taking that Tony Montana character with you 24/7 365.

And the first one is acceptable, why the hell would someone wanna sell drugs all their life?

since i don't listen to rappers for life lessons i could care less who's "real" if i like the music, i listen. smh @ the self hatin hip hop community. why do we not question the same politics, community issues, etc that we constantly
    "wait" for rappers to do?

It's called exaggeration, we as the listening audience with common sense is not gonna believe anyone owns a car of that magnitude. Just like anyone with common sense wont believe anyone saying they are making those moves WHILE rapping. But taking that shit with you 24/7 is a whole nother issue.

If you are stupid enough to believe the Tony Montana version thats your own stupidity for not understanding braggadocio and embellishment.

When Special Ed said he was fond of Honda scooters and had 74 of them we understood his bragging, just like when Dolemite said he handcuffed thunder and put lightning in a jar.

Its sad you people are so confused.

There is a difference between braggadocio and taking what you rap about and turning it into a gimmick that you take with you 24/7.

Based on what? Who made this criteria? Who set this standard? I'm just trying to get yall to actually think about what you're saying and realize how stupid it sounds. On one hand its ok, but on another its not.

In order to better understand your reasoning I would need an example of this sort of behavior.

Please give us an example from an actual rapper, that has displayed the 24/7.

This will help provoke constructive dialogue to address this issue.

No, you dont see the difference. You're trying to say that if a rapper is exaggerating in his lines, why do he get hate for doing so when others do it too. For example I dont hate Ross for doing that, every rapper does it. I have a problem with him taking the character he plays in his music into real life like that's how he is really living.

The Wu had gimmicks but you dont see them taking that shit with them 24/7. When Nas was in his Esco phase he was walking around like that's how he really is 24/7. Gravediggers weren't taking their music into their real life like Ross does.

    And those are just examples.

It's not the rappers fault that listeners are too damn dumb to separate "entertainment" from autobiographys. This is pure entertainment yet people love to sling around bias judgments. Like this dude is fake because he had a job and didn't sell drugs. This dude, however, I'm a fan of so he gets a pass for preaching upliftment even though he doesn't donate a damn thing (including time) to poverty stricken black communities. If I was a rapper, I wouldn't give a flying fuck about how some delusional "critic" has to say. For one, it's a good chance that Mr or Ms. Judgmental has a number of identity issues of his or her own. Lastly, that same critic is more than likely not buying my music, so that opinion equals 1-1.
