it was my 2nd day of 6th grade...i remember walking to school...how nice it was outside. then i remember my comign and getting me and us running to get my sister...we went home and i could see the towers from my roof...went up there nothing but dust...did u ever see the video of people running away from a huge dust cloud? my father was one of them, came home caked in soot. i have a firehouse on my block, 4 of them died another station a few blocks away had literally every member die...the neighborhood had a vigil for them. I cried alot that day because thats my home...i had been to the top of those 2wice, and loved those buildings, all the times id ride over the manhattan bridge and see them lit up. Everyone that says they didnt care: 3000 people died that day. AMERICANS. people just going to work. Fire fighters saving lives. My friend went to stuyvesant HS which is literally across the street from the buildings...he saw bodies hit the ground. he saw limbs in the street. That day changed history FOREVER. I will never forget.

If ur not from NY, DC or their surrounding area I dont think u can truly understand the impact. My godmother (my moms best friend) worked down the block from the WTC. She did a lot of her banking in their and had they hit it a couple of hours later she would've actually been in their herself. I just went home cut on my stereo and played PS2 all day. I dont think I even cut on a TV the whole day. Thankfully no one really close to me personally died that day but I know some ppl that had family members and friends that died. I never went inside the twin towers though.

Not being from the region is no excuse for ignorance and indifference don't give them that.
