  • Nothing is beyond reproach. If you simply said you wasn't feeling the song or you respect Nas' music more than the Wu's. I would have said nothing. But you like everybody else on this site feel like if you don't like something, you have to make some ridiculous statement shitting on it. I post that video and me and another cat say we really like the song. So here you come with some "That is the worst shit blah blah blah" and calling it a sea of mediocrity and criticizing it for not being something it was never supposed to be in the first place. That shit is just silly. Then you throw Nas into this shit like every verse he drops is some Pullitzer Prize level shit on 10 levels of deepness. Yeah he has a lot of material that is like that. The Wu have a lot of material that is deeper than this song too. However, this was not meant to be one of those songs and I like it because of what it is not what it's not suppose to be.

Tight song, but that verse is not Shakespeare. It's just Nas talking shit. Nothing special, but still good for what it's supposed to be.

Frivolous verse on a frivolous song. Nothing special or particularly good about it at all.

More frivolous shit. Nice song, but nothing lyrically spectacular.

Seriously get off that shit. Every rapper has songs that are just supposed to be fun little rap expositions and nothing too deep.

really what do you expect rhymin with snoop dog?that verse is better than the whole windmill song!
  • really what do you expect rhymin with snoop dog?that verse is better than the whole windmill song!

Blah blah, I dropped three verses that I found easily, and your best counter is to blame snoop dog who was only on one of those songs. Just give it up. Made You Look is as good as Windmill, maybe a lil better. Neither of those other songs is as good as Windmill.

Yo king you dealin wit' a 85 non-cipher devil.

When we build on Monk & Bird we buildin' on Blue Note, they think we buildin on Tibet & Cocaine....

    lol Case and point.

I like Made You Look, but there was nothing about that song that was strikingly better than Windmill. It was a tight beat, and Nas just talking shit. Windmill is a tight beat with the Wu dudes just talking shit. To me, both songs are great. You on the other hand want to knock Windmill for not being Shakespeare but then praise Made You Look despite it also not being a deep song. Like I said, you don't like the song, that's cool. You prefer Nas, that's cool too. But these stupid justifications you're coming up with point to you just hating more than anything else.

lol you do know 99% of the cats in here won't understand what the fuck you were just talking about right?

LOL, thats the whole idea, we communicate with each other in our own language/slanguage so outsiders cant understand...Godbody.
I just quoted your post (105) which is knowledge-cipher-power but if you not the Asiatic, cream-of-the-planet-earth you couldnt overstand that.

"My wisdom's Ol' Earth just passed on the Fathers born day, and she been goin' 730 every since, so I copped her some Remy and broccoli to get her to iceberg"

To the average person it sounds like gibberish but to us its just our thing.

Yeah, but honestly it's a lack of intelligence. Anyone with basic reading comprehension and understanding of context clues should be able to read what you said and figure it out. However, these simple ass dudes take a quick look and immediately conclude it's just gibberish. I'm not a 5%er but I can understand what they are saying. It's not rocket science. It's just about using your brain.

I agree with you to a point. Although, I think 36 Chambers and Wu Forever are by far the best. I think The W and Iron Flag are both ok, but both had room for improvement. I think 8D is good. People don't really give it a chance because it's so different from what they were expecting, but it is quality IMO. I'd rank their albums like this

    36 Chambers
    Wu Forever
    8 Diagrams
    The W ~= Iron Flag

As a group they definitely lost a lot of their spark and hunger as a group, but I still think their music was decent.

    I agree 100.

Its far from gibberish, we call it "science", Raekwon is a master of encoding his rhymes in a matter that caters to our esoteric and street knowledge. You dont have to be a Black, NY 5% from the streets of Staten Island but it helps.

I dont expect people that havent seen the Jon Woo movie "Hard Boiled" to understand the picture above, but the people that have understand the reference and appreciate it.

There is no difference in being an 85er to being "Goyum" according to Jews or a "non-believer" to a muslim.

Being a Devil just means you aint an original man and one of the GODS.......non-cipher just means you aint up on the 120 lessons.

If you didnt grow up seeing Blue-note records in your household how would you know that Charlie "Bird" Parker and Thelonious Monk references?

The reason why Raekwon originally named his debut "Only built for Cuban Linx Niggas" is because he is speaking to and for a specific group of listeners, specifically brothers
from Ny streets with Supreme Wisdom and expensive tastes.
  • he was clearly trying to make a point as apose to trying to say something hot

SMH I'm be staight with yall, i've never been a fan of dude like that, even though i'm a Wu head. Dude just throws together words imo, and makes no attempt to flow.I've always been more of a fan of Ghost than him, Rae just tries to put together words and not even use conjunctions, adjectives, etc. lol This nigga just threw some bs together on the cypher, you better come with some hot lines nigga. The best thing he said during the cypher was rest in peace to Deck's mom.

dude will rhyme some shit like "politicing mafioso minds/high crimes/time lines/dun talk/wu wear walk/king tut diamonds in the eyes/Egyptians kingpin cries"lmfao
