lol at Country Fans not tech savy, what kind of bs facts are you throwing out like country fans are some backwoods people. Stop your nonsense dude, there are plenty of young college kids and tech savy people who listen to country. As for the 2 rappers going platinum, that's because 99% of these rappers don't have fanbases or try to develop one, they just flood the market with disposable shit. I bet you those two rappers were Em and Jay that went platinum!

    Em and Drake.

And no Country Music fans aren't as tech savvy as Hip-hop fans. They aren't downloading mixtapes, watching vids on worldstar, or getting free shit from blogs.

    Mainstream is top 40 radio,

You made that definition up. Common fuckin sense would tell you he's mainstream.
name one top 40 radio song has ever had.

    The Boss.

    WOMP WOMP
I'll wait, name one mainstream award Ross has ever won, i'll wait.

I can name 20, by your definition, mainstream artists who haven't. You can be so fuckin retarded some times.
If you think Ross is mainstream, i bet you think Redman was too in his prime.

    Nah.

But Ross gets plenty of spins from black radio stations (i.e. his target audience). Consistent Gold selling rapper in this day in age.

And now it's not mainstream. Shut the hell up.

lol at you thinking there aren't country music versions to those sites or the fact that most people don't download music through P2P and torrents. Stop the excuses dude, you are reaching and tryna cover your ass.
  • I also liked his "no hands" verse

They're not as tech savvy as today's average hip-hop fan. Deal with it b.
We get so much music free...why would niggas buy albums?
And no, that isn't the primary excuse I used...but the one you chose to dwell on.

Mainstream has always been considered the top 40 of the pop charts. If Ross is mainstream then you are telling me Redman, Ghostface, etc were mainstream????????????????????

The Boss peaked at 53 on the pop charts, try again!

So Ross has won Grammy's, Billboard Music Awards, etc??????????????

Black radio stations isn't mainstream radio, try again.

LOL at you thinking the DIXXIE CHICKS have tons of free music online.

Cause albums are not meant to be free dumbass nigga. Ya'll get free mixtapes, but them same rappers still release albums. So-called Hip-Hop fans don't give a fuck about the genre and thats the problem. Just like you can go and download a rapper's album when it drops, you can find the Country artist's album on that same site if not another one. So kill the excuse about the free music. Music of all genres is free to the world through the internet. Fans of other genres just give a fuck about the preferred genre, and are not looking for an easy, cheap way out all the time
  • I honestly don't care. Roscoe Dash killed Wale on "No Hands"

    You serious bruh?

Dude, all artist music are easilly accessible by torrents and peer to peer networks. Why are you acting like most people access music from blogs, most people access music from file sharing services.

    Dummy it's called a trend.
If i downlload like 5 of your mixtapes before the album...whats the likelihood of me getting off my ass to go buy your album?
The abundance of free music makes fans lazy. Why do you think record sales decrease every year?
  • I honestly don't care. Roscoe Dash killed Wale on "No Hands"

please tell me you are joking

but they don't have legal sites dedicted to free music such as datpiff, livemixtape, etc

Mainstream has always been considered the top 40 of the pop charts.

    Then Rap itself isn't mainstream.

    Just stop trying.
If Ross is mainstream then you are telling me Redman, Ghostface, etc were mainstream????????????????????

    What charts were they on?
The Boss peaked at 53 on the pop charts, try again!

It's cute how you switched up from charts to POP charts all of a suddent.

It made top 20 on Hot 100
    Top 10 Rap songs
So Ross has won Grammy's, Billboard Music Awards, etc??????????????

Has the Far East Movement? Flo Rida? Drake? Given the retarted logic of your top 40 pop definition, these "mainstream artists" haven't either.

Better yet, what the fuck does that have to do with anything?
Black radio stations isn't mainstream radio, try again.

So NOW it can't be Hip Hop stations either.

Keep reaching you may be able to kiss your own ass soon enough. nh

What genre of music is most accessible tho? Country or Rap?
When have you heard a country music fan say..."OOO that new Keith Urban leaked"
Stop it.... 2 rappers went Plat last year...and if you dont think download ain't a reason...you trippin.

I'm going to have to agree. Another thing that's hurting record sales over all is their is no artist development.

That's not bootlegging dude, i thought the topic at hand is bootlegging legal music. Mixtapes aren't illegal music or original work meant to be placed on a album!

actually the topic is did wale make a bad move by signing to maybach music group under rick ross. But i think any music available for free devalues the product over all.
