Was Charles Hamilton really the last hope for a new NY artist to blow up?

I think hadn't charles hamilton's career ran into so many fuck ups, he could've brung NY back. His style wasn't the typical "movin weight", "shoot em up", "punchline" type of shit that New York niggas rap about. I'm still mad that the pink lavalamp wasn't his debut album like it was suppose to be. That shit would've gotten 5 mics i bet.

charles had a style that was a head of his time, people liked it but no one really 'got it'

but then odd future, came and took th style and worked in a way to appeal to the gap in the market, they mixed it with rebellious punk rock, neo psycho, neo hipster trend that appeals to a lot of people.

but i dont give a fuck what anyone else says, odd future are good but Charlie did it first.

he's good but i always looked at it like if new york ever came back he would co exist with the ones who brought it back i thought saigon or pap would bring it back now i see vado or joell still might and with hot artists that spit lyrically CH could drop somethin that would sell decently but he'd never be king.

but with that said new york might never come back because with all the raw ass rappers they got on the mixtape circuit the ones with the most attention out there are the wack ones like french montana and max b, besides vets like d-block, dipset, and g-unit.

Man Charles was the shit for 2 years, I mean he was hella dope. It's one of the saddest cases in rap music to date about him, his music is so bad now unfortunately.

man I was lovin' this shit in Dec '08. These two coulda did it big for Harlem and Greater New York City in 2009 but it just wasn't meant to be.[video]
