What ive always found funny about non blacks fear of Blacks is that *I* as a black male am far, FAR more likely to be hurt and/or killed by one of my own than a White person, regardless of location.

Truth.com. Case in point, I was at a house party and some ballplayers from the local college came by. It was $5 at the door,"all you can drink", and the folks throwing the party were charging ppl even tho all the alcohol was gone. They start kicking people out and the college dudes get heated and wanted their money back. They start trying to force their way in and who gets swung on? A black dude near the door and this black chick, no one else got touched.

To answer the question, its the media portrayal, anecdotal stories from other white people and just the fear of the unknown. I grew up in a predominantly non white city but even as a young kid I wasnt sure what to expect from other races until I started realizing that there's good and bad from every walk of life. As I was growing up I had way more white folks do me dirty than other races. I think if your around your own primarily you experience that and blacks tend to stay in areas that are predominantly black.

Most people feel uncomfortable when they're the minority in a situation. Blacks often feel uncomfortable in a 95% white setting. But as far as whites in general getting nervous in the presence of black people in general, I don't really think there is much if any truth to that, unless the situation itself is potentially threatening.

LOL, I was talking to a friends roommate about this.. I was helping my friend move out of her apartment, as I'm walking back to her apartment from my car (an open parking lot, well lit) I see these 3 white people leaving one apartment walking to their car. The girl was a good 20 feet+ ahead of her two guy friends the moment she saw me she stopped in her tracks and waited for them to "catch up" and start walking again. Right as they walk pass me the two guys glance at me and I chuckled and kiss my teeth.. My friends roommate came down stairs I was like "Fuck wrong with these white people, in 2011 they more likely to do some random shit than I am."

So its just not the media. They have a reasonable expectation to be scared. Don't like it? change your communities and weed out the bad apples and stop embracing them as major contributors of your culture

I remenber I was at this college party and it was filled with white people but there was these 10 black people in the party.We started freestyling dancing and shit having fun and shit and these people started circling us and shit.At the time I didnt give 2 fucks cause I was drunk and I was doing my thang back then all chained up.Anyways outta nowhere this bitch scream these niggas cant be foreal.I was like what!Shawty didnt say shit all the dudes started grilling us.But they didnt do shit.

They don't have to. The severe nature of the stats themselves will invariably show up in tangible day to day patterns that the everyday people will see and I'm sure that white girl in the OP post noticed these patterns. Whenever someone you know said they have been robbed more often than not the offender is black. When you know that someone was senselessly murdered for material items, more times than not the offender black. When someone says they were jacked for their car more time the offender is black. Whenever you see someone acting in a disrupting manner and causing a headache for everyone around them by acting like ghetto trash they are often black.

The statistics simply quantify patterns that people who don't bury their head in the sand due to PC already notice. That white girl was being statistically safe. Nit every black person is going to rob you but no reason to put yourself in a more statistically dangerous situation.
