Could DMX come back as a top tier artist?

I love X and have all his albums and thinks he's one of the realest. But his last 2 albums it seemed he was desperate to make hits and not just do him. Is there any hope for "The Dog" to regain top teir status in hip hop and commmercial success?

I mean dude got top selling movies and albums under his belt. Did he smoke up all his chances?

Yeah if he were to stick to the formula of what first made him successful.

His rap style never really fell off it was the type of songs he started making that made him fall.

With the right production and more of those introspective songs that he's known for X could be back.

The biggest hurdle was never his music but hisself.

I agree. Whats funny is Kanye actully wanted to produce for X but X didnt like Ye as a person. SMH. Personal feelings and business dont mix. Fail.

No, there is no second chances in rap, once the perception that you fell off sets in then it's over. Rappers shelf life is like milk, once that freshness is gone there is no way to recpture it.

I dont really feel as tho he truly fell off.

His last couple albums werent that good but i dont think it was due to talent more-so his addiction.

True. I'm not counting it, but in your opinion did Eminem make a "comeback" with Recovery (5.7 Mill sold) after Relapse (2 Mill sold)

Are y'all forgetting who buys records? To remind you guys, it's white people and girls.

To answer the thread, Yes DMX can easily come back as a top tier artist if he gets the machine behind him. It's really not that hard. If JayZ, Em and all of these other washed up artists can come back and sell platinum, so can X.

Do you think the machine would support again him after all that has happened? I mean drama sells but I dont know if his past is behind him yet.
