Either way the problem with Fat Joe was once he got his 1 hit with R-Kelly back in the day he suffers from shitty attempt at a hit 1st single. He's a good example of what Hip Hop has become from 1st to 2nd album he was saying check my skills I'm upped my skills to now just simply saying we got hits. But I can't front he got some street gems on all his albums. 2nd album will always be his best album though IMO. Who didn't wild out when they heard KRS1 intro his album.

And you can't front he killed this 300 sample and Slow Down is a banga.

Fat Joe was recruited by Showbiz and Diamond D to join D.I.T.C. due to his ability. There's an interview in which he says something along the line of him being the only latino in his hood who would actually battle other MC's and that's what caught their attention. You had to have skill to be down with Diggin' In The Crates.

Joe was mad ill, he could also craft a raw boom bap album back in the day. He fell off, but he drops something decent here and there. His first three albums are some of the best and grimiest albums of the 90s. Part of it is complacency since he's made his money, but also not really being close to the other heads who used to push him. You still hear his name even after all this years, so props to him.

Fat Joe actually has good albums after 2001... people are confused by his dumb down singles trying to sell records approach ever since lean Back... but he can still spit he can still make quality albums, but he goes ignored cuz people just dont like him as a .. i cant even say person.... they just dont like him for whatever reason.
