    this generation made hip hop more POPular than even. Like Britney Spears popular. At a cost though imo. When PE went plat, when Wu went plat, Redman went gold, BIG went plat, totally different shit cause it was against the grain of mainstream music. hip hop is mainstream music now, which is good in a way, but its also pop music with all the formulas and gimmicks that come with that. and hip hop was supposed to stay different no matter how much it sold, thats what it used to stand for. i cant do shit about it though except listen to the shit i like, i guess others who share my view do the same.
