Anyone else think there's a chance Zimmerman will take an insanity plea?

Insanity pleas rarely ever work and you have to be utterly batshit loco to even stand a chance. Plus all that gets you is indefinite suspension in a state psych hospital which is arguably even worse than prison especially if you're not really insane.

It's not a big deal to me when I've only listened to the original 911 call.

Oh its not a big deal as far as to the core of what happened my thoughts dont change on that. its just what they are accused of doing it adds an uneccesary element to the public discourse..

To be honest, I thought they did it to save time in their broadcast. Didn't know they did it to portray a certain image.

From what i read it seemed like they edited out the dispatchers question on whether the Trayvon was black or white.. and then carried Zimmermans response as if it was a statement. Again not a huge deal in the grand scale of things but its a small big thing..

It shows that NBC is know better than Fox. Blatantly trying to spike up the race angle just for ratings. That's some low ball shit. If Fox did the same thing then folks would be calling for them to shut down. It's just a reminder that none of these channels really give a fuck about the situation but only about how to create profits off the situation.

    huffingtonpost.com/2012/04/02/nbc-news-trayvon-martin-internal-investigation_n_1396442.html
NBC News has launched an internal investigation into a story that ran on the "Today" show about the killing of Florida teenager, Trayvon Martin.

The Washington Post was the first to report news of the investigation.

The internal probe will investigate the editing completed on the audio recording of the 911 call George Zimmerman, the man who shot Martin to death, made to police minutes before he took action. The "Today" version of the call makes it sound as though Zimmerman volunteered the information that Martin was black. In actuality, the 911 officer asked if the "suspicious person" Zimmerman was calling about was "black, white or Hispanic."

The coverage of Martin's case has caused some conservative pundits to criticize the media for rushing to judgment about Zimmerman before necessary facts have surfaced. Ann Coulter compared George Zimmerman critics to the KKK, and Fox News pundit Liz Trotta criticized African American journalists who shared their personal reactions to news of Martin's death.

The omission of the 911 officer's question in "Today's" story paints a significantly different picture. NBC News told the Washington Post that they "launched an internal investigation into the editorial process surrounding this particular story."

regardless of whatever NBC did ...seriously doubt zimmerman would have considered trayvon suspicious had he been white

as we all know the night of the shooting zimmerman was taken into custody and brought to the police station in handcuffs, he was essentially arrested.... what did not happen, is that he was not booked, he was not charged, he did not have a mug shot, he was not scheduled for a hearing, he was not given bail, he instead was basically 'unarrested' and simply let go free...

my question is after 176 days even though he was not fully processed could zimmerman's attorneys have the case dismissed on the grounds that since zimmerman was handcuffed, therefore he was technically 'arrested. under florida law, the 'clock would start ticking' on zimmerman's right to a speedy trial under the 6th amendment. florida law states, if a felony trial does not begin within 175 days from the date of a defendants arrest, a motion can be filed to discharge the case...it been 35 days i think since trayvon's murder...

I don't see the controversy here. From day one every news channel here has played the part of the operator asking if the person was white, black or latino. What kind of news yall been watching? And its only natural for the operator to ask so they have a description of the "suspect" before arriving on the scene.

You have to admit that it's completely dishonest for a news agency to edit a 911 call for broadcast. I can accept that shit in reality tv shows but if the news does it that means they're trying to manipulate you by forming a salacious narrative. With a story like this there's no need for that since the story was actually picked up by the news because of public interest.

    no-ambulance-for-Zimmerman.jpg

According to new dispatch recordings just released, an ambulance was canceled for Sanford, FL neighborhood watch vigilante George Zimmerman the night he shot and killed unarmed Trayvon Martin.

The recordings, first obtained by the New York Daily News and then shared with Orlando news station Local 6, has shed more light on why Zimmerman’s injury reports have not been released — because there are no injuries.

According to the recordings of radio transmissions made by paramedics already at the crime scene, a second ambulance was called for Zimmerman, but it was canceled because paramedics said he had no gunshot wound.

If Zimmerman really had a head injury the paramedics would have noted those injuries during the call.

There is no mention on the audio of Zimmerman suffering from any wounds that required treatment — such as head wounds.

The recordings also indicates that Trayvon may have been clinging to life when paramedics arrived on the scene.

Paramedics requested an air ambulance for Trayvon, but were told that an air ambulance was not available due to the inclement weather (it was raining). So Trayvon was transported to the hospital in the ambulance at the scene.

Paramedics at the scene would not have called for an air ambulance if Trayvon was already dead. That means they detected some cardiac activity on the EKG monitor.

Despite all of Zimmerman’s lies being contradicted by the facts in the case, Zimmerman is still not in handcuffs.

Meanwhile, the special prosecutor who was assigned to the case after the Sanford prosecutor recused himself, told Local 6 she preferred that the evidence (of the calls) would not be made public at this time. She has been dragging her feet on this case since she was appointed.

They say the first EMT's treated Zimmerman after they pronounced Trayvon dead @7:30. Some say it only took 8 minutes to treat Zimmerman. Zimmerman arrived at the Police station at 7:52. It's a 15 minute drive.

what yall think about this "new enhanced video" of Zim at the police station that reportedly shows his head injury? Personally I still don't give a damn, to me the only one who was really standing their ground their was Trayvon.

But wouldn't Zimmerman wanna have evidence that Trayvon was bashing his head against the pavement? Why he didn't take pics and leak them to prove what he said was true? Seems odd to me.

View of media coverage of Floriday shooting breaks on party, race lines

WASHINGTON, April 3 (Reuters) - The shooting death of
Florida teenager Trayvon Martin is still the top news story for
Americans but they are divided about coverage along partisan and
racial lines, a Pew Research Center survey said on Tuesday.

Thirty percent of those polled said they were following news
of the February shooting closely, making it the top story for
the U.S. public for a second week in a row, the survey said.

Along party lines, 56 percent of Republicans said there has
been too much coverage of Martin's death, compared with a
quarter of Democrats who felt the same.

Fifty-eight percent of African Americans said they were
closely following the story, compared with 24 percent of whites.

Overall, 37 percent of the public said Martin's death was
getting too much coverage, while 40 percent say the coverage has
    been about right.

Fourteen percent said the story has received too little
coverage. More than twice as many whites as African Americans,
or 43 percent to 16 percent, said Martin's death has received
    too much news coverage.

George Zimmerman, a neighborhood watch volunteer, fatally
shot Martin, 17, on Feb. 26 saying he had acted in self defense.
    Police released him without charge.

The case has prompted demonstrations in several cities
    demanding that Zimmerman be arrested.

Pew's weekly News Interest Index survey was conducted March
29 to April 1 among 1,000 adults. It has a margin of error of 4
    percentage points.

  • Glad this is dropping out of the media cycle. I think the media realized its narrative of the innocent (lol) teen being hunted down by the grand wizard of the KKK wasn't working out and falling apart once people started to call bullshit.

More than likely, Trayvon attacked Zimmerman and Zimmerman instead of letting himself die at the hands of the thug, shot him dead. End of story.

  • Some people let common sense fly over their head like the idiot above me. Like the Casey Anthony case, a mom doesn't report her daughter missing for 30 days, child is dead, trunk smells like dead body, she borrowed shovel from neighbor, parties the entire 30 days kid is missing but the jurors found "reasonable doubt". Same thing with this case, racial profiling, racial slurs, following someone at night with a gun, proven propensity for violence, hero complex, saying self defense even though you got a gun. But since no one saw the actual murder, people have doubts. Apparently you can only be tried and convicted of something if the actual crime is recorded on video smh nevermind circumstantial evidence, unless you are a poor black person of course.

What does getting your head smashed on concrete look like then?

People in this thread are being unreasonably skeptical because it doesn't fit their narrative.
