I here alot of talking down on MC Hammer but he is actually a wise man and tho he lost alot of money he learned a lesson people from the past make mistakes atleast other artist can see and learn from those before them that way they would know its possible to fall off if your not careful but right now he is a man of God!

hammer isn't a one hit wonder..he has more than "u can't touch this"..he has atleast several different legit hits..what happened was hammer was an underground sensation who happened to skyrocket to mainstream success in the blink of an eye..unfortunately for him it was in the wrong era..when he blew up in 90,91 it was the peak of the conscious era so niggaz was about "keepin it real" and "being true to the culture" but in retrospect they were just being crabs in a bucket..hammer was the first solo rapper to go diamond and that brought a lot of hate..this was when going gold was still considered successful and platinum was considered the shit..so rappers like ice cube and q-tip, among others, would talk shit like he aint real cause he's doing this and that but now those same rappers are getting money outside of hip hop which was a no no back then..hypocrites..hip hop is full of haters who dislike successful rappers..a lotta dudes danced their ass off in the late 80's and early 90's..it was the new jack swing era

LOL, dude really said Hammer was a 1 hit wonder?. SMH. Hammer sold 50 Million WW and his one of the most successful rappers of all time. "Please Hammer, Don't hurt em" is rap's 1st Diamond LP and spent 21 weeks at #1, no rap album will ever be #1 that long again. To put that in context Adele was #1 for 22 weeks. Hammer was commercial and wasn't strong lyrically but he was an strong entertainer and had some amazing shows. If you an 80's baby you grew up on Hammer. Unlike Vanilla Ice he actually had talent and tried to help the community.

Hammer was a big deal back in his day. On some flashy flamboyant gimmicky shit to sell records so of course looking back it's easy to poke fun at some shit like that. But, it worked and he got paid and he put the hood on. He knew how to make the money, but didn't know what to do with it. He didn't evolve his hustle like Master P (or even Shock G for that matter) with a long term strategy. But he still a good dude overall and still do shit like community drives to help people in need. He's just one of them "learn your lesson from" story cats you look at so you don't end up like him.
It is what it is........

Because he's wack, that's why. Just cause he sold millions of album we should respect him? Fuck that. Dude had no originality and was plain gimmick. Those who grew up in era of gimmicks in music obviously don't get it, but it was the time when Native Tongues & PE on one side and Ice Cube on the other were ruling the game.
