I think these days people dont have it as bad as they use to, so regions and economics are such harsh dividers as they use to be. Now you got stationary kids growing up like military brats, with just so much exposure to everything its hard to gain an identity that is so set in stone.

Younger people these days have less pride in identity, so i think both are pretty equal. That being said, a Southern MC sounding like a East Coast rapper usually makes better music

What we know as HIP HOP came from The Bronx.It started w/ urban youth trying to end gang culture in NY

Came from DJ's who would let ppl rap to promote the DJ.Hip Hop as we know it w/ 2 turntables and a mic is certainly from NY

Southern Rap - Cali influenced I been around long enough to hear the south come into fruition.
Rodney O & Joe Cooley - Compton rapper & DJ credited with being the influence over the Miami Bass sound

Let go of the pride, time to embrace some truths. If you haven't came up with 80's rap then I can understand why you would disagree.

You just don't know any better considering the era you was growing up in and the year you purchased your first rap cd. (Some of you are Ipod generation and never heard audio CD of any sort...lol)
